I swear, Rub n Buff is a GODSEND for steampunks. You can make just about anything look steampunk by adding a little bronze, gold, or copper Rub n Buff, it's amazing. I used some copper on a pair of old boots, glued on some various watch parts, and spottily painted the laces with a different brand of gold metallic to give it a kind of stained, distressed metal look. I get complimented on them all the time, and best part is being able to say "I made them myself!" 😂

Fantastic video. Thanks so much!
vhaelen (1 year ago)
btw if you want to recreate this i suggest glueing stuff to it first and aply the rub n buff later, the wax substance may shorten the lifespan of said glue since the glue cant stick to the leather of the boot because the rub n buff is in the way, its usualy not that big of a deal but on boots its particularly important simply because the leather is flexible and moves around a lot while you wear them/walk in them if you dont want rub n buff on certain glued on pieces just cover them with masking tape and like i already said its not that big of a deal but its realy anoying if something falls of especialy if its a bigger piece or a real eye catcher piece etc if that falls of during a shooting or while you just wear them casualy its realy frustrating because sometimes you just dont have equipment on you to repair it but especialy on shootings i always recomend a small repair kit with super glue etc better safe then sorry

Im kinda new to Steampunk (the practice of it, I should say. I've known of it and have had interest for some years now), and this video was really nice and easy! I like the results you made! I'll have to try out some boots to get started with clothing making, it looks so fun and easy.

Layla May (1 year ago)
I'm not joking, thats a real question. Where are your real eyebrows. Are the shaved or do you cover them. It looks kind of creepy to me, but its your turn. Sooooooo where are them😅
TezMania TV (1 year ago)
Layla Zoubek I have a video on how and why to remove eyebrows. Give it a look and all shall become clear.
Bevey Hawco (1 year ago)

i one your Uuuhh so beautiful.

Have you ever tried using puffy paint? It is 3D paint and what I have done is you paint over it and it can be used to make "rivets" or patterns that are 3D but too small to really mold out of clay. I used it on my Worbla.
TezMania TV (2 years ago)
Arianna Silva No idea if they have it here in Sweden. Will check local craft shop. ;)
Arianna Silva (2 years ago)
+TezMania TV I wasn't sure if they had it in New Zealand. It would be in a plastic bottle with a nozzle probably around the kids craft area.
TezMania TV (2 years ago)
Arianna Silva Never heard of it. Sounds cool though!
Arianna Silva (2 years ago)
It was good the boots were black. it's best to paint on black.

The point of DIY is to keep things simple so that anyone can do it themselves. But yay on having an uncle who can help you with cool stuff!

TezMania TV (1 year ago)
Mickji There are several great YouTube channels that focus on SteamPunk and there are shops and brands that carry SteamPunk fashion do you can go totally bananas on SteamPunk if you like! 😊
Mickji (1 year ago)
Yes I've tried to google :) it came out there are many different styles of steampunk like apocalyptic, lolita, gothic etc then there is dieselpunk, cyberpunk etc ... It's really confusing. However there isn't somethink like a wikia of steampunk that tells you that do and don't about it. This is how I've found your video ^^ I wanted to find something clear about steampunk I'll dig all your video list to check if you have other tutorials and stuff ^^ I like the machinery about steampunk, I knew about it because of a wallpaper of a dragonfly, then I've found people dressed in that style, but they were at cosplay con and other events of this genre... so I thought it was not an everyday style and went a bit far from it...But love always come back, so did the desire of dressing up in this style... But it's more difficult than how I thought because there isn't a shop with everything and they are all handmade I thank you for your video and I'll try to find the colour you've used and the gears
TezMania TV (1 year ago)
Mickji Best way to learn more is to give it a good Google! 😉 I am no steampunk expert, but it's a fun style! Machinery, copper and gold, clocks and bolts and hats.
Mickji (1 year ago)
Hi, I was wondering what does something need to have to be steampunk. I often see a lot of lace and these clocks like gears .... Is it all?

Those are pretty rad. The liquid gold metallic was something I haven't seen before. They were so great I'm kind of jealous. But good thing is I do have a pair of combat boots that I don't wear because my friend has the same ones... I love to diy and you're a great inspiration! Thank you
