Most hands to hands martial art dance move are just a decoy and camouflage to practice for melee moves. Back in the day most sword and knifes are banned by governments so they needed to those dance moves to maintain muscle memory. Nowadays these martialart are deemed to be dance move and performance, too much physical violence is unnecessary
