Ship Like a Powerseller on Ebay for Super cheap Make your own custom boxes to ship

930 ratings | 114693 views
In this video I show you how to ship for super cheap on ebay using a box making technique. I ship a box all the way to the other side of the country for $2.00 There is no wasted material. Ship small boxes for less than $2.00 usually. Ship Like an Ebay powerseller! You can make an extra few dollars on shipping by shaving weight. First class mailing boxes under a pound. Make a perfect box out of a random piece of cardboard.

I think you have an awesome idea. I also think that if this was a race you would be 1st place! Nice video. You dont need to explain yourself. If your video was perfect people would still try to salt your game with negativity. Bottom line is your method is effective and I will be using it in the near future. Thank for the tips!

EXCELLENT. I do the same kind of shit. Next level, I have a big 4x4 of styrofoam too. I cut out a hole for the item I'm sending (small miniatures), then wrap cardboard around it. Safe and protected and cheap

Awesome. This is the way to do it!

Awesome video! Thanks! I wanted to make a few extra bucks and listed a few things on Ebay, used their calculated shipping and sold 2 items. Turns out I was waaaaay off on the size of the box I ended up using and the weight I put! I paid $10.50 to ship one and the total the buyer paid me for the item AND the shipping was $9 That was a live and learn lesson for me! I never mailed a package in my life before that and I wish I had watched this video and a few others first. From a casual seller viewpoint this was a helpful eye opener! Appreciate it so much!

Where do you get the cardboard from?
Tx240 (4 months ago)
Looks good and makes sense. I don't know why this older about boxes is in my suggestions...or why people were giving you hate for an efficient idea.
Don Mega (4 months ago)
1:10 should've not made the cut and leave it overlapping for added protection. now the whole sidewall is weak. 2:40 you stole that USPS scale eh?

that'll do.

Fuck the post office and their shipping boxes! I'm doing my shit this way from now on!
Mel Gonzalez (7 months ago)
I do this with the post office boxes. Cut them down to size and wrap in brown paper or a dark trash bag. Easy,

This might be one of the most helpful videos I've watched in a long time, thank you.

just roll the box with the cardboard on the first one.... saves 30 more seconds and is easier

People just to be negative. This was a great guide for sellers who are low on money to buy bulks of items or need a box their own specific size

This is not how powersellers ship. Powersellers buy boxes.

You’re not suppose to put tape over the bar code!

There is a much easier and better way of making a shipping box, using universal packaging sheets, check this video out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjDwoW6HbVw

hi. i am about to watch this video, and my mom warned me that the comments some folks have made are really shitty. i am not going to read them, but i just want to say shame on you for being jerks. this guy put up this video to be helpful. shame on you.

I found this video helpful and inspiring to work with what you have. That is positive and encouraging. I never find hateful, negative people helpful or inspiring. Thanks for the video.

Getting positive or negative feedback shipping this way depends on the item you sell. Cheap or expensive, regular price or a bargain. Used or new. International or local. If I buy a pair of CARRERA sunglasses with a regular price and receive it in a box like that I'll give you a negative feedback like I never did before.

Thanks for the video, i surely needed this help
gbertarelli (1 year ago)
Perfect. Thank You.
I ship my items like this all the time and no one bats an eye! This is a great way to be resourceful and use extr packing wisely while being environmentally friendly to your buyers! It also cuts down on the price of the parcel because it's not how it's shipped it's what the item inside looks like! Stop wining people this is awesome!
Jason (1 year ago)
Stop bashing this guy's shipping method, folks... SERIOUSLY! I watched this video, did what he did, and shipped something on eBay like this. I had to ship a Super Nintendo game box to someone and the buyer specifically requested that I ship it in a sturdy box to protect it. Since it was just a box only without a game in it, it barely weighed anything. So I used cardboard like he did to create a barrier around the box. Then I shipped it in a bubble mailer, 1st class. Once the seller received the item, he left me positive feedback and in the comment area he actually wrote, and I quote... "Nice Thanks! great shipping job!"
Aiden Leshovsky (1 year ago)
the video is 4 20 minutes long
kathnee (1 year ago)
I thought this video was great. I already made 2 boxes this way. I don't give a shit what the box looks like, as long as the seller is ultimately saving me money.

I came here because I am in the exact situation. I cant believe the comments on here. People seriously do not understand that shipping cost, materials cost - tape, boxes, peanuts... someone said a box this size would cost like 25 cents... where??? boxes this size you have to buy in bulk and if you only need one for that item it really doesnt make sense to spend $30 on boxes... Anyhow, this video showed me just what I needed. Thank you!

Loved the video! F}%> all these complainers! So annoying! Your video was quick n easy n I enjoyed it compared to everyone else's who ends up yapping non stop
Guys. It's just a box. Why are you raging over a box?
captstevoho (1 year ago)
So many negative comments in this video. First, this is a smart way to save on shipping boxes. Second, extra protection is only needed for fragile items. If I'm shipping a piece of steel spoon, then I won't need extra protection cause I know my item won't break. Going OCD on shipping boxes, bubble wrap, and styrofoam is a good way to destroy your profit. I'm sure this guy will use some common sense when shipping fragile items.

The way you pack it doesn't matter as long as it doesn't damage the item. This helped me and save me a little time. Haha, welcome to internet trolls. There will always be one in every video posted and everything online. I'm guilty of this but it's sometimes fun to see the stupid comments people post. I look for the funny comments that are harmless yet smart. Don't take it too seriously, it's the internet. I'm sure 99% of the people that make stupid comments wouldn't have the guts to say it to your face because they are either cowards or know that it's stupid. The internet is entertainment for many at the end of the day.
Shyzah (1 year ago)
Aren't you not supposed to put tape over the bar code or bend it? Why didn't you just make it so the barcode was straight on the flat side? I brought a package over once to usps and they told me to take the shipping label off and put it on again so that the barcode is flat.
Anthony Honeycutt (1 year ago)
Well played! I make my own triangle shaped boxes to ship Insect and Solar Screen Material. The material to do so is readily available, free and takes no time to do it. A couple of stores save their biggest boxes for us.
Chet Gravatt (1 year ago)
The USPS says not to wrap your label around the package nor to cover the bar code with tape. They must have changed their rules.

This video is the best, Thanks MacGyver.lol
representing50plus (2 years ago)
If you have a box that has a lot of writing on it you can also cover it up with a black garbage bag. Just cut it up and wrap it like it's a package and put a label on it. Also if you see alot on ebay invest in a *THERMAL PRINTER*. IT uses stick on labels and it doesn't use ink. Look up zebra printers.

Crypto Andrew1257 I do all the time. Never had an issue.
Unknown Alien (1 year ago)
Crypto Andrew1257 as long as it's clear tape, it actually protects the barcode from getting damaged..
Jason Young (2 years ago)
Completely understand the concept of the video and attempting to be more economical. I bet this video will be received better if you use the following: 1) Heavy duty tape dispenser 2) Cleaner cut cardboard 3) Ruler to mark the creases/folds Possibly make the box a little bigger to pad with bubble wrap, paper, or popcorn. Slow the video/process down a little as this might show a little more professionalism. It's all about the perception of professionalism (ie customer service). Setting up a business account with FedEx or UPS will save you a little on shipping costs. Just my input and not really criticizing Dub. To each his own......
paintflw (2 years ago)
I like the scale. Many boxes can b found in dept store dumpsters, a lot of smaller boxes, not in the garbage but sitting w cardboard recycleings. I would think sunglasses stores would have boxes they don't need..Decent vid, but the guy should get a tape dispenser, makes it easier. Thnx for sharing
Steve Marler (2 years ago)
I can't believe any power seller would ever ship like that, sorriest excuse of an instructable video i have ever seen, i would be ashamed to put anything like that in public

I swear to God I could freaking hug you for making this video. I have never sold on eBay but I'm thinking about starting considering I was in a bad accident and had a partial amputation. I haven't read any of the negative comments because I figured they'd probably piss me off but for someone like me who has never done this and is very interested so that I can help my husband put bread on the table, thank you so much. I haven't gone through all of your videos so I don't know if you have more so that I can better educate myself on anything to do with eBay and how to be successful with it, but if you don't have others, please make more. Screw the negative people. Again, thank you so much. your video was like eBay for dummies. that's not an insult towards you either. Great job all the way!!!! 👍
Random Acts (2 years ago)
Don't focus on the haters..they will always be negative because they are miserable people in real life. You did a good job, and I think that was a cleaver way making your own boxes...good luck to you and thank you for the inspiring video.
Maclean2560 (2 years ago)
Thank you for the video and your method, but no thank you. I personally would be pissed to get a package like that. Cut improperly, and with zero internal cushioning. This is why I do not order from free shippers without some indication they know how to pack and do not cheap out using improper materials.
Deepak Phalke (2 years ago)
Time waster and risky procedure as you may accidentally cut your product. Packing quality 0 out of 5

Ur a lifesaver, i have an issue on the item i got from ebay and need to return it and i dont wanna pay for shipping fee if its too expensive. So i just print the label they gave me and found ur video, good thing i saved some boxes from my prev purchases. Thanks for the awesome idea
Shams Haque (2 years ago)
Nice Video , I like it
Yoshio Tamiya (2 years ago)
Good video. Not enough people make their own packaging like this. I used to ship truckloads of stuff every day, each item a different size/shape. My packaging material was a 6' wide roll of corrugated cardboard and packing tape. It's super fast and easy, once you know what you're doing.
James McClaren (2 years ago)
This is smart, I like it. I was just at usps and they said it was going to be $2.45 for a box... Really? I'm not cheap, but whats the point of trying to make 5 dollars from a customer when it's $2.45 + $2.45 for stamps.
Ignore the haters! :)
