For this demonstration, we will be seeing real time sentiment analysis on car brands from streaming data gathered from Twitter. Minely offers the power to connect to multiple data sources, in our case we will use a Twitter connection and a MongoDB connection to save the tweets. We can also upload a CSV file to Minely’s data warehouse, we will use car_brands.csv for this demonstration so we can blend the car brands in the CSV file with the text in the tweet Minely allows you to blend real time with batch data easily. With Minely’s extendable platform, we can add different plugins, here we are using Minely’s text analysis plugins for sentiment analysis and key phrase extraction Workflows are used to allow background execution, schedule execution and output data to different sources. Here we are processing our data retrieved from twitter to match the brands found in the CSV file, we are also preparing our data to be stored as a MongoDB collection. During the data preparation process streaming data is enriched using the sentiment and key phrases extracted from the tweets Now we can see the result in a dashboard. Using Minely’s visual flow designer, a dashboard has been created to output the results of the sentiment and key phrase extraction. This is created by querying data stored in MongoDB using the streaming workflow which is running the background. Here the result shows the number of car brand mentions, the sentiment of the tweets for each car brand found in the CSV file, a general overview of the sentiments for all the car brands, the top 5 languages used in these tweets, the top key phrases in the tweets and a series chart showing the different mentions by time. We can also click on Load Mentions to view the raw data. Minely gives you the ability to interact with your data. We can drill down to a specific time period and we can also drill down to a particular car brand. This video showed you some of the features of Minely’s social media analytical suite. SETTING UP TWITTER FOR BUSINESS - PART 3: Ad Campaigns and Analytics

Welcome back to Part 3 of Setting up Twitter for Business. In this video we will create an Ad Campaign and check our Analytics. Let’s get to it. Log into your Twitter account and click on your profile picture on the top right corner. Here, you will find Twitter Ads, and Analytics, let’s begin with (Twitter) Ads. First you will be asked to fill out some additional info to determine your billing currency. Click Let’s Go when you’re ready. Twitter Ads start with a promotion objective for your ad campaign, like increasing website traffic, followers, conversions, etc. For this video we will create a brand awareness campaign, so click on the Create campaign button. Here you will name your campaign, then decide whether to start it immediately and continuously, OR set a start and end date. Under that, you have the additional option to add a third party tracking manager. Next select the audience you want to target in the campaign. This may take some time to fill out but it’s very important if you want the right people to see the Ad. You can choose from one location, if your Ad only requires that you reach out to locals, or from multiple locations for a wider audience. You can also choose to target a specific gender, language, device, platform or carrier. Keywords are fantastic at finding the right audience, because Twitter Ads will target searches or users who use them in their Tweets. You can even target specific followers, interests, and events. Next let’s set our budget - a daily maximum budget per day is required, but you also have the option to set a total budget. Next it’s time to choose the type of optimization you want for your campaign; either maximum reach or reach with engagement. Under Advanced Options you can choose between an automatic bid or a target cost for your pricing. We’ll choose automatic to get the best results for the lowest price. Next it’s time to choose your creatives, or Tweets, that you will be promoting. You can either choose from a popular Tweet you’ve already published, or create a brand new one. On the right side here, you will see an automatic preview of how your ad will look on different devices. Once you have selected your creative, you can either choose to Launch, Save or Exit if you wish not create an Ad after all. We’ll click on save to see a summary of the campaign. If you filter to Drafts you will find the first Ad Group for your campaign. By clicking on the gear icon you can choose to make Quick Edits to the name, audience, and budget. Or you can open it in the original Ads dashboard to see its progress. Now let’s head back to our timeline to take a look at Analytics, which will open in a new tab on your browser. Here you will see your Account Home with a 28 day summary of tweet activity, impressions, page visits and more. For more Analytics options head to the bar at the top of the page. You will want to keep an eye on Tweet Activity for your business profile. Here you will find your Tweet’s daily impressions, as well as your Top Tweets, which you can directly create a promotion for. You can also select a specific date range of Tweet Activity and Export that data for monthly reports on your profile’s performance. Other Analytics options include Audience Insights, which gives you an overview of all Twitter users - from Demographics, to top wireless carrier. You can then compare these insights with your own Followers to see where you stand. Knowing this information will help you create better content that will reach influential Twitter users, earning you a better Twitter score. Twitter Analytics also keeps track of video activity, as well as promoted videos - in case your business has more of a focus on video. Lastly, Events on Analytics shows you popular upcoming events and holidays, each with their own Analytics and demographics that you can create a new campaign out of, and specifically target audiences interested in a particular event. In this paper, we propose practical attack techniques inferring who clicks which shortened URLs on Twitter using the combination of public information: Twitter metadata and public click analytics. Unlike the conventional browser history stealing attacks, our attacks only demand publicly available information provided by Twitter and URL shortening services. Evaluation results show that our attack can compromise Twitter users’ privacy with high accuracy.

There’s something more important than marketing analytics: consistent and useful marketing analytics! In a recent article (it’s linked below), data strategist Andreas Franson discussed the problems that organizations face when there’s a lack of consistency across management teams with respect to the key performance indicators that each team is using to determine success and to make forecasts. The sales team talks about a particular conversion rate; marketing touts some cool brand awareness number; operations says that client engagement for a key service is high; and the CEO is completely confused as to whether all of this really adds up to success. So what can you recommend for your organization? Franson tells us to first, develop high-level KPIs that are relevant and useful for determining success and making key decisions. Then, work back toward the data to figure out what needs to be collected, analyzed, and presented to help everyone at all levels to perform better. Finally, be open to revisions and improve the analytics stream. This week on the Magnet Minute, Amy shows how to use three different platforms that measure the success of your Instagram presence. Tune in to see which might be the best fit for you based on the analytics they offer, between Nitrogram, Simply Measured and Statigram. Next, I looked at Simply Measured, which is my favorite of the three due to how much analytics you get from it. I also like that you can see your most engaging photo, filter, and location. Simply Measured also shows engagement as a percentage of how many followers you have, which can help you gauge how much your audience enjoys your content. I really like the graph that shows engagement outside of Instagram to see how well your content performs on other platforms. Rather than showing all of your pictures the way Nitrogram does, Simply Measured gives a text list of every picture and how they performed. It's a little cleaner and easier to read. Finally, I checked out Statigram. Photos are displayed like they are on Nitrogram, and the "statistics" tab shows information on engagement and audience. Statigram shows new followers over the last week, as well as the growth rate of your audience. Statigram also gives ratios of how many people like your pictures and comment on them. You can even look at people that engage with your photos that aren't already following you. Applications in action are all around us already. For example, If your bank notifies you of suspicious activity on your bank card, it is likely that a statistical model was used to predict your future behavior based on your past transactions. Serious deviations from this pattern are flagged as suspicious. And that’s when you get the notification. So why should marketers care? Marketers can use it to help optimise conversions for their funnels by forecasting the best way to move leads down the different stages, turning them into qualified prospects and eventually converting them into paying customers. Now, if you can predict your customers’ behavior along the funnel, you can also think of messages to best influence that behavior and reach your customer’s highest potential value. This is super-intelligence for marketers! Imagine if you could not only determine whether a lead is a good fit for your product but also which are most promising. This’ll allow you to focus your team’s efforts on leads with the highest ROI. Which will also imply a shift in mindset. Going from quantity metrics, or how many leads you can attract, to quality metrics, or how many good leads you can engage. You can now easily predict your OMTM or KPIs in real-time and finally push vanity metrics aside. For example, based on my location, age, past purchases, and gender, how likely are you to buy eggs I if you just added milk to your basket? A supermarket can use this information to automatically recommend products to you A financial services provider can use thousands of data points created by your online behaviour to decide which credit card to offer you, and when. A fashion retailer can use your data to decide which shoes to recommend as your next purchase, based on the jacket you just bought. Sure, businesses can improve their conversion rates, but the implications are much bigger than that. Predictive analytics allows companies to set pricing strategies based on consumer expectations and competitor benchmarks. Retailers can predict demand, and therefore make sure they have the right level of stock for each of their products. The evidence of this revolution is already around us. Every time we type a search query into Google, Facebook or Amazon we’re feeding data into the machine. The machine thrives on data, growing ever more intelligent. To leverage the potential of artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, there are four elements that organizations need to put into place. 1. The right questions 2. The right data 3.
