5 Biggest Tsunami Caught On Camera
5 Mega Tsunami Caught On Camera — Enjoy the video. Rate, Comment, Share... Thanx For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Tsunamis are giant waves caused by earthquakes or volcanic eruptions under the sea. Out in the depths of the ocean, tsunami waves do not dramatically increase in height. But as the waves travel inland, they build up to higher and higher heights as the depth of the ocean decreases. The speed of tsunami waves depends on ocean depth rather than the distance from the source of the wave. Tsunami waves may travel as fast as jet planes over deep waters, only slowing down when reaching shallow waters. While tsunamis are often referred to as tidal waves, this name is discouraged by oceanographers because tides have little to do with these giant waves. The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami was triggered by a 9.3 magnitude earthquake with the initial surge wave of the tsunami measuring 33 metres. It was the largest earthquake-generated tsunami in history. Certain places in the world are subject to earthquakes and tsunamis more than others as there are only seven tectonic plates covering the earth and the borders of these plates lie in certain areas. 3 Meters Above The Sky (Tres metros sobre el cielo) - Mario Casas - Trailer
3 Meters Above the Sky tells the story of two young men from opposite worlds. She's a rich girl of upper class who have been educated within the rules and goodness. He is almost the opposite: a rebellious young man, fond of risk and somewhat impulsive, always stuck in endless fights and illegal racing bikes that seem to be the limit of common sense. A very wonderful movie actually well balanced. Mario Casas is an extraordinary actor and María Valverde is really beautiful. A true masterpiece directed by Fernando González Molina. Available in Spain on DVD and Blu-ray subtitled in English. Disponible en France et en Belgique sur DVD et Blu-ray KOBA

Most dangerous ways to School - NEPAL
Those who attend school in the mountain village of Kumpur, walk across the mountains of the highest situated country on earth. Nearly half of Nepals lies more than 4 000 Meters above sea level. Today it`´s normal that the kids go to school in the valley, but just 50 years ago the village was completely self sufficient. Only if there was a lack of salt would someone twice a year hard off to refill the stock. Today the children go to the city almost on a daily basis and are immediately forced to cross the dangerous river. A village in distress is left behind. The village community Kumpur is spread across 18 farms on the Dhap Mountain. Their families live in a very remote area. These families have lived on their land now for thousands of years herding their life-sustaining cattle without electricity, running water or contact to the outside world. Although they constantly ask themselves if the promise of an education justifies the danger of the path involved, they send their children day after day to school.

U.S. EP-3 Intercepted in the Black Sea
On Jan. 29, 2018, a U.S. EP-3 Aries aircraft flying in international airspace over the Black Sea was intercepted by a Russian Su-27. This interaction was determined to be unsafe due to the Su-27 closing to within five feet and crossing directly through the EP-3’s flight path, causing the EP-3 to fly through the Su-27’s jet wash. The duration of the intercept lasted two hours and 40 minutes.

Traveling Iran by train | DW Documentary
Iran is opening its doors to foreigners and a train ride from the Persian Gulf to the Caspian Sea is a great way to get to know the country and its people. The travel restrictions that are now being lifted were in place for decades. Many Iranians are hoping they will now be able to lead a freer life – and we meet many of these hospitable and welcoming people on our journey through the Middle Eastern nation. The country’s most important rail link, the Trans-Iranian Railway, runs for approximately 1400 kilometers from the Persian Gulf via Teheran to the Caspian Sea. The journey starts in Khorramshahr on the Shatt al-Arab, the river border between Iraq and Iran. Traveling past oil fields, the train reaches Shushtar. One of the top sights here is the historic hydraulic system, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After that, the train heads up into the Zagros Mountains. The journey is interrupted by a break for prayer. Breath-taking landscapes move past the train window until we reach the highest point not only of our journey but of the entire rail network: 2,200 meters above sea level between Dorud and Arak. During a brief stop in Qom, travelers can refuel with sohan, a pastry made of wheat germ, flour and sugar. The next section of the track is high-speed and we continue on to Teheran at 160 km/h. The metropolitan area is home to more than 15 million people. The last leg takes us to the north of the country. In the Alborz Mountains, we find out what role the Trans-Iranian Railway played during Stalin’s major offensive against the German army in World War II. Our oriental rail adventure ends in Bandar-e Torkaman on the Caspian Sea. _______ Exciting, powerful and informative – DW Documentary is always close to current affairs and international events. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch Is Not What You Think It Is | The Swim
It's not an island twice the size of Texas. But it is severely impacting marine life and human health... and incredibly hard to study. How Millions of Microscopic Fibers Are Ending Up in Our Bodies - https://youtu.be/Bbg0L7JN15U Read More What Happens to the Plastic We Throw Out https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2018/06/the-journey-of-plastic-around-the-globe/ "Henderson Island is a tiny, uninhabited island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, 3,000 miles from major population centers. Though it is half the size of Manhattan, more than 19 tons of trash litter its white, sandy beaches. Researchers estimate that it has the highest concentration of debris of any place in the world, for a total of over 37 million pieces on the entirety of the small island. For every square meter you walk, on average you’ll find 672 pieces of trash. For each visible piece of debris on the beach in the video above, two pieces are buried in the sand. How does so much trash wash ashore on Henderson Island?" We know ocean plastic is a problem. We can’t fix it until we answer these 5 questions. https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/7/3/17514172/how-much-plastic-is-in-the-ocean-2018 "Ocean plastic has, in a pretty short time, become a surprisingly potent international environmental movement. For one, there’s more awareness now about the astounding quantity of plastic — between 4.7 and 12.8 million metric tons — floating around in the ocean. As the World Economic Forum put it, this volume is 'equivalent to dumping the contents of one garbage truck into the ocean per minute.' But what about large-scale, long-term plastic reduction? Shouldn’t we also be working toward that?" A running list of action on plastic pollution https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/2018/07/ocean-plastic-pollution-solutions/ "THE WORLD HAS a plastic pollution problem and it’s snowballing—but so is public awareness and action. Each year, an estimated 18 billion pounds of plastic waste enters the world’s ocean from coastal regions. That’s about equivalent to five grocery bags of plastic trash piled up on every foot of coastline on the planet. New research is emerging apace about the possible long-term impacts of tiny pieces of plastic on the marine food chain—raising fresh questions about how it might ultimately impact human health and food security. The world is waking up to a crisis of ocean plastic—and we're tracking the developments and solutions as they happen." ____________________ Ben Lecomte's historic swim across the Pacific Ocean is a feat that can’t be missed. Tor: In Pursuit of the Uncatchables. Russia’s mobile anti-missile vehicles can knock out any barrage
Watch Combat Approved series: https://rtd.rt.com/series/combat-approved-series/ Russia’s Tor air defence system is a tracked vehicle that can take out everything from falling bombs and cruise missiles to fast fighter jets and supersonic anti-radar missiles – all while travelling at speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour. The modernised M2 version’s missiles can engage as many as four targets up to 32 kilometres away and intercept threats flying as low as three metres above the ground. Each vehicle carries 16 missiles that can be launched on the move and has a powerful radar system that can track multiple targets simultaneously, as well as TV and thermal cameras. Tor units are also programmed to take down drones and can hit targets as small as a tennis ball. It can even hone in on targets made from materials difficult for radar to detect. The Tor system is highly versatile and can provide air defence in many different situations. Multiple Tor vehicles can work together as a battery capable of shooting down a barrage of threats of various types coming in from different directions. In recent tests in Belarus, the Tor system successfully shot down missiles launched by a Grad multiple-rocket system. Tor vehicles can provide cover for army units while on the move in any weather all year round, and can even be deployed on the deck of ships to provide extra air protection at sea. A special version of the Tor has been designed for extreme Arctic operations. This 50-tonne monster can negotiate the worst mud and ice, conquer hills with slopes as steep as 35 degrees, and can swim too! This year we travel to Furano Prefecture and explore Furano Ski Resort. Furano Ski Resort, also known as Furano Ski Area, is a resort in Furano, Hokkaido, Japan, owned and operated by Prince Hotels. One of the leading ski areas in Hokkaido, the resort became famous for its long-standing relationship with the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Located 600 meters above sea leven in the Shirogane hot spring village of Biei City, this waterfall stands more than 30 meters tall. The water flowing down the gaps between the rocks resembles a white beard, earning it the name Shirohige (white beard). The water springs from beneath the rocks and falls with force to the rocks below, creating a beautiful splash of cobalt blue The Blue Pond (青い池, Aoiike) outside the hot spring town of Shirogane Onsen is named after is deep blue color which it owes to natural minerals dissolved in the water. LDF Jūras ērglis (Haliaeetus albicilla)
ATBALSTI TIEŠRAIDES! http://ldf.lv/lv/atbalsti-ldf Kopš 2015. gada tiešraidē vērojamā jūras ērgļu ligzda atrodas Kurzemē, Durbes novadā. Šī ligzdošanas teritorija zināma kopš 2014. gada. Ligzda būvēta vecas egles galotnē, ko savulaik nolauzis vējš vai sniegs. Lauzuma vietai apkārt apauguši vairāki zari, kas veidoja ligzdas būvēšanai piemērotu žākli aptuveni 30 metru augstumā. Kamera uzlikta vienā no galotnes zariem 2015. gada janvāra nogalē. Ligzda interesanta ar to, ka ir būvēta eglē, jo egles jūras ērgļi ligzdošanai izvēlas reti, - atrašanas brīdī šī bija tikai ceturtā Latvijā zināmā eglē būvētā ligzda. Aptuveni puse no visām jūras ērgļu ligzdām tiek būvēta priedēs, trešā daļa – apsēs un mazākā skaitā arī bērzos, melnalkšņos un ozolos. Eglēs ligzdas parasti tiek būvētas tieši uz šādām nolauztām galotnēm un parasti atrodas augstu virs zemes. 2015. gadā ērgļu pāris Durbe un Roberts sekmīgi izaudzināja vienu mazuli - Durbertu. Vairāk par norisēm ligzdā 2015. gadā var noskatīties īsfilmu (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGeI_G-I9mE&t=1s). 2016. un 2017. gadā ligzdas saimnieki vairākkārt nomainījās, un ligzdošana nevienā no abiem gadiem netika uzsākta. 2018. gadā šajā ligzdā sekmīgi ligzdoja jūras ērgļu pāris, kas šeit uzturējās kopš 2017. gada marta un kam ligzdas vērotāji devuši vārdus Milda un Raimis. Ligzdā izauga divi mazuļi. Pēc ligzdošanas sezonas ligzda pilnībā izjuka, taču jūras ērgļu pāris drīz vien sāka ligzdu atjaunot. 2018./2019. gada ziemā jūras ērgļu pāris regulāri apmeklēja ligzdu un gatavojās ligzdošanai. Martā tika izdētas trīs olas. Ligzdā notiekošo iespējams komentēt Dabasdati.lv forumā latviešu valodā https://forums.dabasdati.lv/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3925 un Looduskalender.ee forumā angļu valodā https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/viewtopic.php?f=99&t=952. Kameras sistēmu izveidoja Jānis Ķuze, Jānis Rudzītis un Ģirts Strazdiņš. Tās uzturēšanā ir palīdzējuši arī Māris Freibergs, Juris Lauva, Arnis Zacmanis, Leks van Drongelens (Lex van Drongelen) un Jelle Lips. WHITE-TAILED EAGLE The nest of White-tailed eagle is located in W part of Latvia in Durbe County. It is known as White-tailed eagle breeding area since 2014. This nest is interesting with its location in the spruce tree. It is only the fourth historically known nest in Latvia that is built in spruce (roughly half of all nests are built in pine trees, one third – in aspen trees, one tenth – in birch trees; more seldom spruce, oak and black alder is chosen). “Spruce nests” are usually built on such broken tops and are located high above the ground (in this case roughly 30 meters) – the highest nest of White-tailed eagle in Latvia is located 31,5 meters above the ground and is built in spruce as well. Camera was installed in winter 2015. Forum in English: https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/viewtopic.php?f=99&t=952

Shouldn't sea levels have risen by now?
Try Dashlane here: http://dashlane.com/simonclark Get 10% off now with my promo code: simonclark ! In this video I answer the question: 'isn't climate change supposed to have risen sea levels by now?' by looking at one dataset in some detail, and reviewing the scientific literature. Also: Kevin Costner's Waterworld. My video on stopping climate change: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkbuV_a-rvs This video was light on the potential impacts of sea level rise. I wanted to focus specifically on the perception that sea levels have not changed, and spend time on the data. If you’re interested in the potential impacts then https://www.ipcc.ch/site/assets/uploads/2018/02/ar5_wgII_spm_en.pdf is a must read. Anthropogenic climate change (AGW) is a fickle bit of science, and like much of environmental science sometimes changes on (relatively) long timescales and global extent can hide in plain sight. That seems to be the case with sea level rise. The data is very clear: sea levels have been rising faster and faster over the past century, and this is not caused by natural variability. Humanity's carbon emissions are radiatively forcing the planet, causing net warming and so thermal expansion of the oceans and melting of ice sheets. It appears that this is going to become more and more painfully obvious as this century wears on, and so the sooner we take action the better. Bulgarian Railways: Septemvri - Velingrad from the driver's view
Cab ride on the narrow gauge line in the Rhodope mountain from Septemvri to Velingrad with the morning train 16103 and diesel locomotive 77 009. This is the only left narrow gauge line in Bulgaria, which is still in a regular use. The whole journey takes approximately five hours through the beautiful valleys and gorges of the Rhodope mountains with wonderful views in the last part of the journey towards Rila and Pirin mountains. The railway was built in several stages between 1921 and 1945 with total length of 125 km (78 miles). Gauge is 760 mm. The Varvara–Pazardzhik branch line, which was closed in 2002, was 16.6 km (10.3 miles) long. Due to the characteristics of the route through the mountains, the narrow-gauge line Septemvri–Dobrinishte is also known as the Alpine railway in the Balkans. Avramovo station, situated at 1267 meters above the sea, is the highest station in the Balkans. And now just enjoy the first part of the video - from Septemvri, a station also on the main line Sofia - Plovdiv up to Velingrad - the spa capital on the Balkans. p.s. I'm very upset about some vibrations of the camera, which you can notice when the locomotive engine is working on a high revs, but I didn't manage to do anything about this in the editing process. Here is also the virtual timetable: 0:25 - Septemvri station 9:35 - Pamporovo halt 12:15 - Varvara station 24:00 - Marko Nikolov halt 32:50 - Tsepina halt 39:15 - stop at the railway crossing on km 16+100 50:10 - Dolene station 1:14:05 - Kostandovo station 1:26:10 - Velingrad station ... and stay tuned to the channel for the next part of the cab ride on this beautiful line!

DJI F550 Hexacopter crash after flight above the clouds
--- PLEASE READ ALL INFO BELOW BEFORE POSTING! --- I planned to perform a short GPS controlled high altitude flight, going straight up, and then straight down again. When initating the descent, something did not work out as expected, and less than ten minutes later the hexacopter crashed because the failed descent attempts had drained the battery. Technical explanation to what actually happened: The GPS mode prioritized staying in place over descending. The winds were so strong that the engines had to work hard to keep the multirotor in place. When I told the multirotor to descend it basically said "I'm afraid I can't do that, because you told me to stay in this position, and if I slow down the motors to descend, I would also start moving sideways with the wind". The solution was to disengage the GPS mode. Important background information: This video depicts a very dangerous situation that could have ended up much worse than it actually did. I was very lucky not to cause any damage on the ground to either living beings or property. I am not proud of this particular flight, and my main reason for putting the video on YouTube is to inform others and hopefully help them avoid making the same mistake(s) I did. My arguments for performing a high altitude flight at all were as follows: - No airplanes in this area ever fly as low as I did in the video - There is generally not much air traffic in this area at all - I checked with flightradar24.com before flying - Military, police, and emergency flights are virtually non-existant in this area - The multirotor was supposed to go straight up and straight down again Knowing all of this, I still realize it was a mistake flying that high, especially on this particular occasion. The wind on the ground was not very strong, but higher up, the wind was so strong that the hexacopter had to struggle to stay in position. When I started descending, the hexacopter did not seem to respond to my command, and the only way to make it respond was to disconnect the GPS mode. It then started descending, but it also started moving away with the wind. Facts to be noted before commenting on the video: I DO NOT PERFORM HIGH ALTITUDE FLIGHTS ANYMORE, NOR DO I FLY OVER POPULATED AREAS. Hence, it is unnecessary to ask me to stop flying like I did in the video, since it definitely won't happen again anyway. The crash was a harsh wakeup call that totally made me rethink my attitude towards multirotor flying, and I realize now that high altitude flights and flights over populated areas are way too risky and dangerous. THE MULTIROTOR DID NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE ON THE GROUND, TO EITHER PEOPLE, ANIMALS, OR PROPERTY. Having said this, I am fully aware that something disastrous could have happened, and there is no need to keep reminding me about that fact. I WAS CONFIDENT THAT THE MULTIROTOR WOULD AUTOMATICALLY PERFORM A CONTROLLED LANDING IF THE BATTERY LEVEL REACHED ITS SPECIFIED MINIMUM. After reading the documentation, I felt reassured knowing that I had specified two battery level limits, where the second (lowest) limit, if reached, would initiate a forced automatic landing. Apparently this never happened, so this was either a misunderstanding on my behalf, or unclear documentation, or a combination of both. Also, I do not live in the US, so the FAA will probably not be too interested in this flight. My advice to any and all multirotor flyers out there: Never ever take any unnecessary risks. It is never worth it. I got away with it this time, but I could as well have ended up hurting or even killing someone on the ground.
