Through my hard work and consistency in my environment, I have been able to change my life and also been able to inspire many youths from my local area who have now joined my fitness club. Through training together, we have been able to find a healthy escape from the harsh realities of life in our environment. We have managed to be more happy, strong, fit and love for one another. Our local gym has been an alternative to criminal activities and a means of making us disciplined and more focused in life. I have been able to use the locally available equipment to transform them into gym equipment and this has really helped us. Through watching Youtube videos, we have been able to copy the designs of some equipment s and also been able to learn how to use them to benefit us during workout sessions. We have been able o use old car parts and cement to come up with weights to use in the gym. We believe that through your help, we can manage to upgrade our gym and be able to buy some better locally made gym equipment that is similar to that professional equipment. We are hoping that there is someone out there who believes that we should upgrade our gym and get better equipment and would like to reach to that someone to kindly support us to make this happen. Challenges The biggest Challenge that we face is the climatic conditions which tend to be harsh sometimes, making it very difficult to train. When the sun is out and it's too hot, we find it very difficult to train. It is also impossible to train when it's raining because our gym gets flooded and some equipment becomes very dangerous to use when they are wet and slippery. That is the main reason why it would be very beneficial to build a gym that can protect us from the sun and the rain. Having a shelter a gym will be one of the best things that can happen to us. Please find it in your heart to support us in any way possible. And for those who enjoy fitness and going to the gym, we hope that you understand how important this is to me and my local boys. In this video, I show you how not paying attention to the strength in your wrists, hands and forearms could be preventing you from making the gains you are seeking in the gym. I show you ways to incorporate extra work for these weak areas into muscle groups and exercises that you are already performing. If you had to spend hours extra in the gym each week to try and fix these, you likely never would. As a result, you would never be as strong as you should be. That said, if you are training your chest you likely are doing pushups at some point. Whether you are doing them as a finishing exercise or one of the main exercises in your chest workout there is a way to change them to make them more effective for your weak wrists or hands. Simply perform them as finger tip pushups if you need to increase your hand strength or as knuckle pushups if you want to increase the strength of your wrists. Likewise on back training day you can extend a regular pullup beyond failure to get more work for your wrists and forearms. Simply hang from the bar on your very last rep for as long as you can. You will feel the burn travel through your hands and forearms as you work to increase your muscular endurance and improve your grip for the bigger exercises. All of these benefits apply to other muscle groups as well. We cover the extended wrist position during dumbbell laterals and the tweak that you can make to deadlifts (not using straps) that will all help to increase your hand and grip strength without compromising the amount of time that you have to spend training each week. I often see that people have trouble making a distinction between internal/external rotation and internal/external torque (IT/ET). Torque refers to tension and internal/external refers to how that tension is created. For example when you are screwing your feet into the ground by “splitting” the floor with your heels aiming to get closer to each other while your big toes aim to move away from each other (without actually moving) you are creating external torque. When you do this you will notice the torque, the tension starts at the hips. You will feel the outside of your hamstrings engage, all the way to your Glute Med and even Lumbar Erectors. Now can you create external torque while your knees are close to each other other, or even in a Valgus knees position? Absolutely. It might not be the most efficient position to create external torque but it is absolutely feasible. The same goes for internal torque: split the floor with your heels aiming to move away from each other (without actually moving). You will feel the inside head of your hamstrings firing. It might be a bit difficult at first to feel that inside head fully contract as most people have often undertrained that particular muscle group but you’ll get there eventually. That is the fundamental difference between rotation and torque Rotation is just joint positioning and is inherently different for everybody on any exercise (femur length, etc...). It is a What, a method, part of Supervised Learning. In any joint position you can create internal or external torque. Torque is a How. It defines which tension you are creating and ultimately it is what matters most. La notion de "Torque" implique la production d'une tension. Sa nature est une ellipse, tout comme l'est l'action d'une perceuse ou celle d'une balle. Quand la force développée est orientée vers le centre du corps, on appelle cela un Torque Interne. Inversement, si cette même force est dirigée vers l'extérieur du corps, alors on appelle cette tension un Torque Externe. Le Torque n'a que très peu de liens avec la position des articulations, et bien souvent, la recherche de ce Torque ne va pas provoquer un changement au niveau articulaire. La "rotation", est quant à elle, à l'inverse du Torque, liée à ce placement articulaire, et ne nécessite aucunement la recherche d'une tension. Ce placement articulaire est inhérent à chaque athlète, et varie selon sa génétique, sa posture, sa morphologie, la longueur de ses segments.... La Rotation est un "Quoi", une méthode, liée à l'apprentissage supervisé. La rotation nécessite simplement d'apprendre et de mémoriser une position. Alors que le Torque est un "Comment", un principe. Le Torque, c'est apprendre à se mouvoir.
