top 10 facts you didn't know about airlines and flight attendants Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Flying on an airplane can be an awesome experience, but there is so much more going on than we see when we travel at high altitudes. Your friendly flight attendant may be quick with a smile and a glass of water for you, but there are some things they just won’t tell you. Like, don’t drink that water unless it came out of a bottle! In fact, you’ll be surprised to learn that you may not even want to use that water for washing your hands with. We know that germs can gather on an airplane, but we’ll tell you where those nefarious germs are most likely to be hiding, and it might not be where you think. We’ll also explain why they dim the lights before takeoff, and what happens if you don’t put your oxygen mask on in time. The poor quality of airline food has been fun of enough, so we are here to somewhat defend it with some basic science. First class may seem like the ultimate luxury, but in the case of an actual emergency, it’s the worst place you can be. And although airlines want to make you feel safe, they neglect a lot of expensive safety measures that could make you drastically safer. Haven’t you ever wondered why the flight attendant’s seats and seat belts look different than yours? We’ll also let you in on some secrets about what the pilots are doing while they’re supposed to be flying the plane. A plane in the eyes of flight attendants and a plane in the eyes of passengers are two completely different worlds. We often have no idea about some secrets that the crew is hiding. Here are ten tips from flight attendants on how to get the maximum comfort in a plane. Pay attention to fact number 10: doing this, you actually insult air hostesses! TIMESTAMPS You’re allowed to ask for more food 0:33 Check the presence of a life vest before taking off 1:00 If you accidentally smoked, use the ashtrays 1:37 Don’t be squeamish during the flight 2:04 The lavatory door can be opened from the outside 2:38 Be the last person to board 3:02 Avoid too much alcohol 3:29 Avoid the bulkhead seats 3:51 Drink only bottled water 4:13 Don’t applaud at the end of flight 4:48 SUMMARY - All excess containers with food are immediately discarded after the flight. Therefore, if your stomach demands more, don’t be ashamed to ask a flight attendant for another serving. - For safety reasons, always check your seat before the flight to make sure the life vest is there and not stolen by some sentimental kleptomaniac. - If you suddenly find yourself in the lavatory with a cigarette in your hand, at least use the ashtray. And then pay the fine. - Blankets and pillows aren’t washed, just refolded. Food trays aren’t washed. The seat trays are wiped, the carpets are cleaned, but you cannot be sure there wasn’t a passenger in your seat who suddenly felt sick. - Many aircraft have the door lock mechanism itself installed under the "No Smoking" sign on the toilet door. If you raise the flap with the cigarette image and turn the bolt, the door will open. - If you and your fellow traveler checked in at a different time, there’s a solution: just board last. When all the passengers take their seats, you can immediately see which seats are free. - Flight attendants warn that one glass in the sky is equal to two on the ground. And it's true since altitude affects blood in such a way that alcohol during a flight affects you much more than on the ground. - If there are passengers with babies onboard, they’ll most likely take the bulkhead seats. This happens because it’s easier and safer to place a baby carrier there. - It’s better to drink only bottled liquid onboard. You should avoid tea, coffee, and water from the sink. - The flight is not a roulette game; this is their job. People who travel a lot know this and don't clap as much. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 4 - Be Wary of Water Never drink the tap water offered on a plane, this includes inside that tiny closet lavatory and expands all the way to swallowing the colorful collection of coffees and teas. And here's why. The ports to remove lavatory waste and refill the aircraft with potable water are more often than not only a few inches away from each other. Several flight attendants, on a survey, admitted to filling up water bottles with water from the holding tanks. Also, those holding tanks are usually as old as the plane itself and aren't cleaned very often, if at all. That water in the coffee pot may be swarming with all kinds of bacteria, best to stick with bringing your own bottled water. And if you simply must have coffee in order to survive, you might want to spend the extra bucks inside the airport concourse on Starbucks. 3 - Cash Me Outside Voucher! A sad fact of flying, most airlines not only overbook, but it happens way more often than not. This is done to ensure that they make as much money from each flight as possible. Most people would be shocked at the staggering amount of flyers who happen to miss their flights. Airlines are counting on it. Yet this method doesn't always go according to plan, which results in many passengers getting overbooked and consequently, getting bumped off their preferred, already paid for, flight. If this unlucky traveller happens to be you, know your rights! Your airline will most likely attempt to bribe you with vouchers, which can be exchanged for purchases through that airline. However, the pros will tell you to refuse those bits of paper masquerading as money and instead, go for cold hard cash payouts. If you are involuntarily denied boarding, you are entitled to a cash payment, on the spot. This can net you up to 1,300 dollars, or 400 percent of the value of the one-way fare, depending on the length of your unscheduled delay. 2 - Oxygen Mask Time Limits If you have ever flown before, you're probably familiar with that song and dance the flight attendants will do before take off, you know the one, that boring speech with the strange arm movements about what to do in case of an emergency. Well, maybe next time you should put down your iPhone and actually listen; because those few moments of instructions could very well save your life. Here's a helpful tidbit to help you survive an airborne tragedy, as soon as those oxygen masks descend from their containment cartridges, you only have approximately 15 minutes worth of oxygen located inside those face strapping devices. This should easily be enough time for the pilot to lower the aircraft's altitude, which will restore oxygen levels back to where you can once again breathe easy. However, at altitude, you will only have around 15 to 20 seconds to secure your mask before your body succumbs to lack of oxygen, causing you to pass out or worse. So, when those attendants of flight tell you to put on your mask before helping others, they really mean it. 1 - Think Planes Are Clean? Think Again. While most people fret about that sickly recycled air pumping through the airplane's ventilation vents, relax, the air onboard is constantly filtered, approximately twenty times an hour in fact, through hospital-grade HEPA filters. Now, as for the sterile conditions of every other aspect of the aircraft's interior, anyone afraid of germs, may want to close their eyes for the rest of this segment. Word to those who fly often, watch out for all those nasty contaminated surfaces. Those fold down trays from which travellers often eat their onboard meal, are reported to be the absolutely nastiest and filthiest part of the plane. That's right, be careful about resting your head against this hard plastic, because that innocent looking tray, is probably covered in germs! Take precautions if you want to avoid getting sick, for instance, don't rest any food on that tray without a napkin or two placed beneath! Other surfaces to watch out for include, armrests, seat belts, and buttons in the lavatory. Due to time constraints, many of these areas of the plane are rarely, if ever, properly cleaned. Those pillows and blankets you often bug your flight attendant to bring you, well those probably haven't been cleaned in years. Think folded and reused indefinitely! Be weary, for, in these sordid conditions, even the biggest jar of hand sanitizer in the world won't save you! Though, those of us unafraid of germs for one reason or another, typically make it off the plane alive. Germs for thought.

How to Get the Most out of Your Flight. Maybe you love to travel by plane, or maybe just the idea makes you clench your teeth in terror, but we bet you didn’t know all of this. It’s time to ask the experts who fly all the time: flight attendants to reveal their secrets and tips on how to make your flight more comfortable and safe. Many of us consider ourselves experts at navigating departures, flights, and takeoffs almost as naturally as we get out of bed in the morning or take a walk around the block. But however experienced you are, learning some of these insights about airplanes can make your flights more pleasant. It might also make the experience better for the pilot and crew of flight attendants who have to do this all day, every day. TIMESTAMPS All-male crews are a thing of the past. 1:21 Not waiters, but captain’s assistants! 2:36 The crew is just as frustrated as you are. 3:25 Don’t sleep during takeoff or landing. 4:05 Sleeping when cruising is a great idea. 5:13 Chicken or fish? 5:47 Follow instructions — or else! 6:42 Sit toward the back. 7:45 Rely on your flight attendants. 8:49 Flying tips straight from the pros! 9:18 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -Before 1930, the crews of airplanes were 100% male, including the pilot, ground crew, and all of the flight attendants. Over a hundred years, the gender roles reversed, and many now see this as a primarily female profession. -In reality, a flight attendant’s job is to assist the captain by managing the cabin during a flight. -Airline crews are typically paid by the hour, but only the hours spent in actual flight are paid. A flight doesn’t actually start until the door is closed. -Experienced flight attendants recommend avoiding falling asleep on take-off, descent, and landing. Not only will you not be attentive during these dangerous parts of the flight, but it can impinge on your comfort. -Attendants encourage passengers to sleep on night flights, deliberately delaying food service to let people fall asleep. -Some flight attendants use a trick to get more people to choose the fish: they say that the fish is a “special” from the “chef,” reserved exclusively for this flight. -Some airlines supply their flight attendants with tasers to deal with passengers who don’t comply. Safety is very important on planes, and they’ve got to be able to control a situation. -Especially if you’re a nervous flier, you’ll be pleased to know that the back seats tend to be far safer, statistically speaking. -Flight attendants are trained in first aid and CPR. They can treat small wounds, assess symptoms of common traveler illnesses, and even deliver babies in-flight. -Never take your shoes off on a plane. Lots of passengers use fold-down tables for all sorts of things: as writing surfaces, pillows (with drool-catching action!), or places to change a baby. Use antibacterial disinfectant, and clean the tray for your own safety. Flight attendants have very little free time during a flight. If you’re thirsty, rather than pressing the call button, consider going up to them to ask for a glass of water. Top 10 airline secrets flight attendants aren't telling passengers Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Check out part 1 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD3edQEnf7A Let’s face it, airlines haven’t exactly been getting the best rap in the press or on social media right now. Nonetheless, many of us fly the friendly skies every day when we board a plane for work or pleasure. But are there some things that aren’t told to you as a passenger? Ahead we’ll show you why those bathrooms aren’t as private and secure as you think – or want. There’s also a lot of misinformation about autopilot and what it can and can’t do. The two pilots up in that cockpit are people who need to eat. However, there are rules and regulations as to when and how they can eat their food and it’s related to your safety. Have a small child? There’s a reason why you have to put your child in a seat beyond a certain age and it’s actually for the safety of everyone on board. Ever hear that dinging of the cabin chimes? It’s usually right before an announcement is made and the number of chimes you hear could reveal a lot. Then there’s the reason why most passenger planes cruise at around 36,000 feet. There are actually a few reasons for it. Rules about when you can and can’t use your phone on the plane are still a bit foggy for most people but we have the real truth behind it all. If those masks drop down out of the ceiling it means the plane is in a bit of trouble. We’ll give you the dirt on what it all means and whether you should be concerned. With all the worries about airline security we’ll also address the question of why no one seems concerned about someone accidentally or intentionally opening the emergency doors while the plane is flying. Finally, even in this day of electronic tracking and having the government snooping in our business, we’ll show you that there are many areas on the planet where flying can be like entering a bit of a black hole. Secrets flight attendants don’t want you to know! These top facts about airplanes and flying that only flight attendants and insiders know 14. Unsanitary Incidents- A lot of passengers like to remove their shoes when they get to their seat and just relax for the rest of the flight. But the inside of airplanes isn't always as clean as it looks. Even though flight attendants clean after the plane has landed, not all messes are accounted for. Many unsanitary incidents occur during trips that passengers consider or rarely see like unexpected bathroom accidents and sickness. People also change their baby's diapers on the table trays and not every tabletop gets thoroughly wiped between each flight. Plus, the complimentary blankets you receive in the coach’s class are only fresh during the first flight. Afterward, the sheets are folded and reused. Oh and just a head’s up when you go into the lavatory, and you’re just wearing your socks or barefoot, that’s not water you’re stepping in. 13. Decoding Lights- If you’ve ever been on an airplane, you might have noticed pink, yellow and blue lights. They are usually visible inside the cabin, towards the front of the aircraft and make a little ding when the light illuminates. But what does it mean? When the lights chime, it’s an indication for flight attendants that they are needed, and each light means something different. When the light is pink, it says the captain or a fellow flight attendant is calling them. When the yellow light signals on, it indicates a passenger hit the call button while inside the lavatory. If the blue light switches on, it means someone on board needs assistance. On some flights, there is also a green light that could mean a variety of things. It could let flight attendants know when they are near the gate, or it could indicate that the cockpit is off limits because the plane hasn’t reached a certain altitude. But it all varies on the type of aircraft and the carrier. 12. Safety Grab Handles- Next time you’re on board a plan, take a glance of the handles by the door. If you guessed that they were grab handles, you are correct! But why are they there? Well in an emergency situation, filled with chaos and panic the flight attendants are usually found by the exit doors assisting passengers out of the plane. Scared and alarmed passengers who are rushing out of the aircraft have a tendency to push the flight crew out of the way and knock them over all the way down to the slide. So the handles are there as a safety measure for flight attendants to grab on and stay on the plane if that’s what they’re instructed to do. 11. Passenger Code Names- Anything interesting that happens on board will be discussed with the rest of the flight staff. Meaning anything from annoying crying babies to rude passengers will be identified in secrecy and all the other flight attendants will know about it. Flight attendants will give those passengers code names. For example, one code name might be Bob, which stands for boyfriend on board. This is the name given when a flight attendant is attentive to a particular passenger and ensures that he is taken care of throughout the trip. You might hear flight attendants ask about how Bob is doing and how they’re verifying to make sure the relationship is going steadily. 10. All Cargo Aboard- A lot of cargo gets shipped, aside from your luggage there is also dead people in the hold. Some people die abroad and need to be shipped home, or some people are very far from their resting place and are being sent there. The deceased is packed in wood framed boxes so you would never be able to guess its contents, except maybe the strange shape might provide a clue that it’s a body. The deceased is labeled as HR, which means human remains. So if you hear the flight crew mentioning HR while flying Delta, this just means there are human remains in the cargo. However some airlines like Easyjet don’t transfer load, so there won’t be any coffins on the plane.

10 Things airlines don't want you to know. Subscribe: https://goo.gl/cv6b96 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Many of us are afraid of a plane crash, even if the odds of this happening are one in 11 million. But when you’ll know all about these airlines secrets, you won’t want to stay on board either. From things that could save your life to ways to save money, here are 10 things airlines don’t want you to know. You won’t believe how many pilots fall asleep when they are flying! If you ever had a seat next to the window, you probably noticed that there was a little hole in the middle pane. Does this mean that the plane is about to crash? You don’t have to worry. This tiny hole is here for your safety. It is used to reduce the pressure, so only the other pane takes the force of the cabin pressure. Now, this is an interesting to say to the person sitting next to you during the trip. Everyone noticed that the air hostesses are really beautiful, and there is a reason for that. They don’t have the right to gain too much weight, and there are also strict grooming standards for their heels, their skirts, their lipstick, and even their nails. But these ladies are also very smart. If the plane ever crashes, they will be the one you need to survive on a deserted island. If you want to know more about the reason why we have to turn off electronic devices, the things the safety demo doesn’t tell you, the way your pet is treated on board, the food you eat, the real dangers you will have to face, and much more, make sure you watch this video. Only the people working at airports know how things really go down there, and they have many secrets they don’t want you to know. We’re about to change that and reveal 9 surprising truthful facts from airport world every traveler will like to know. Passengers’ most private “bits” that they would prefer to keep hidden are clearly displayed on the screen of powerful “naked scanners” at some airports. If it makes you feel any better, security personnel are obliged to destroy these images as soon as they’ve made sure that a person doesn't present any threat. Most airports have specific experts called profilers. These people practice what’s called SPOT, or the Screening Passengers by Observation Technique. Their job is to notice the non-verbal signs of anxiety, such as people licking their lips, itching, or looking around a lot. Special cameras that perform a similar task transmit the information to a computer and, in cases of dangerous levels of aggression, the suspect will be stopped by airport security for a detailed inspection. Before your luggage gets on the plane, it goes through five security levels, and one of them (besides scanning the contents) includes being checked by a special dog that can sniff out drugs or other dangerous chemicals. The menu for your flight is developed up to a year in advance to plan its budget and save money. In fact, American Airlines managed to save $40,000 after they removed just one olive from every salad they served on their flights. One dispatcher has about five monitors, and the information on them is constantly changing since the monitors show weather conditions and information about other planes. Airport staff have to foot the bill for the tickets of passengers who have invalid visas or no visa at all and can’t be allowed into a foreign country. That's why the people at the check-in counters make sure you have a valid visa to the country of your destination because nobody wants to pay for your flight. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS They see us naked. 0:36 They’re specially trained to analyze “off” behavior. 2:10 They know how aggressive you are. 3:15 They have no idea what happens to your luggage once it leaves the airport. 4:07 They have dogs that check your bags. 5:18 Your food is cooked around the clock. 6:16 The airport controls the planes more than you’d think. 7:03 They most certainly will check the validity of your visa, no excuses. 7:44 They know what’s been in your hands. 8:20 SUMMARY -Special scanners that require passengers to lift their arms up when going through them actually let airport security see you completely naked. -“Profilers” work in both the main halls and in passport control and carefully analyze facial expressions, gestures, and behavior in order to detect suspicious people. -In a lot of big airports, there are special cameras that can determine if a person is drunk or under the influence of drugs. And even more advanced imaging technology can detect a certain level of aggression. -Baggage is sorted automatically: scanners scan the barcode and sort the baggage according to its destination. Airport staff don’t really care about where it goes and if it gets dirty on the way. -Dogs distinguish smells from 10,000 to 100,000 times better than people do and work as one of the 5 security levels your luggage goes through. -Giant airport kitchens work 24/7, and the menu for your flight is developed up to a year in advance. -There are 3 types of air traffic controllers: en-route, terminal, and tower. Each of these dispatchers has their own specific area of responsibility. -If the airport staff finds out that your visa has expired or you just don’t have one when you enter their country, you’ll be deported by the same airline that brought you there. -Special “memorizing” machines can easily find traces of drugs or explosives on your hands. Maybe the person sitting next to you is taking the arm rest, there’s a kid behind you kicking your seat or the food doesn’t taste good. Or, you might be someone who absolutely loves flying and can’t get enough of it. Flying has become one of the most popular modes of transportation, especially when it comes to international travel. You can get halfway across the world in a matter of hours, and you can enjoy a beverage or two as you watch the world pass you by from your window. The people who are the forefront of air travel are the flight attendants. They are usually the people all dressed up serving us food and drinks who also show us how to put on the oxygen mask and point out where the exits are. They not only make sure that we, the passengers, are having an enjoyable flight, but also that everyone is safe and everything runs smoothly. Sure, the pilots fly the plane and help us reach our destination. But it’s the flight attendants who run the operation. But just because they work in the service industry, it doesn’t mean that they are always happy with us. In this video, you’re going to learn about 10 kinds of passengers that flight attendants hate. From larger passengers to high maintenance people to parents who think their children are perfect, flight attendants have to deal with a lot. Watch and find out if you make the list! Have never wondered where the pretty flight attendants go to get some rest during a 12 hour flight for example? Or have you spotted those mysterious doors, very often with an electric locking mechanism but no placard letting you know what’s behind that door. Well behind these doors is a very steep and narrow staircase leading into the crew rest compartment or better know as the bunk. And the come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Don’t expect a large king size bed but a small narrow space with a few cushions, a proper duvet/blanket and a few gadgets such as an oxygen mask, PBE (protective breathing equipment) and flash light. But most importantly the inter phone, with which other colleagues could call you in case of an emergency or wake you up once your rest time is over. But see more within the video! It’s hard to surprise an experienced traveler, but there are still some things you’ve probably never thought of. Did you know that anyone can open a locked lavatory door from outside while you’re inside?! Sound uncomfortable, right? Here're several secrets that are only known to employees and the most curious passengers. Other videos you might like: 10 Things You Should Never Wear on a Plane https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSFkyRafQ38& Pilots Reveal 16 Nuances That Make Your Flight Safe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVYXErxau-U& 4 Most Unusual Jobs That Actually Pay Well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIjIHG5ve_0& TIMESTAMPS: Hooks on the wings 0:57 An ax in the cockpit 1:25 The black triangle 1:51 An auxiliary power unit 2:20 Air Marshal Service 2:47 Crew rest compartments 3:09 Handles by the emergency doors 3:30 Air conditioning system 3:47 A Cooper vane 4:15 A hole in the windows 4:45 Unlock the lavatory door 5:12 SUMMARY: - In most planes, to use an emergency exit slide, passengers have to step onto a smooth and slippery wing. To make this easier, a special hook was designed. - According to many countries’ laws (such as the USA), an ax is a piece of emergency equipment and must be stored in the cockpit. - You probably noticed those small black triangles on board some airplanes. As an Airbus A320 captain says, they mark the places where the wings can be best seen from. - When boarding the plane, we always hear a noise even though the engines aren’t working yet. It is caused by an APU that provides power for the systems while the engines are out. - Air Marshals fly incognito and can quiet down a troublemaker or even disarm a terrorist. - Some airplanes have small hidden rooms for the cabin crew where they can relax during lengthy flights. - Handles by the emergency doors are made first and foremost for the flight attendants to hold in case of panic on board, so they aren’t pushed off the plane by passengers rushing to the exits. - Have you ever wondered where the air we breathe on board comes from? It’s being bled from a compressor stage of each engine turbine. - Airplane windows have three pieces of glass: the outer one keeps the pressure at bay, the inner one deals with damage from inside, and the middle one, in which the hole is made, regulates the airflow. - If your child accidentally locks themselves in the airplane bathroom, to unlock the door from the outside, lift the "LAVATORY" sign and slide the knob into the unlocked position. Secrets flight attendants don’t tell passengers! Airplane secrets you won’t believe flight attendants never tell you 13. You can tip your flight attendant- Many people tip their waiter, taxi driver, and even the hotel bellman but what about flight attendants? While you most certainly can tip flight attendants, many airlines actually discourage tipping. Corey Caldwell, a spokesperson for the Association of Flight Attendants, says passengers shouldn’t tip flight attendants because just like firefighters, police officers and other professionals, it is their primary concern to maintain passengers security and safety. Others say that flight attendants go out of their way to provide excellent service and demonstrate patience to help passengers feel comfortable on board, so tipping is a way to show their appreciation. While many travelers assume flight attendants bring in a lot of money, that’s not always the case. Flight attendants can work a 12-hour shift but only get paid for the flight hours, and that doesn’t include deplaning or boarding either. So many people think dishing out a few bucks to your flight attendant won’t hurt. 12. Flight Turbulence- Flight Turbulence can be a scary thing to go through mid-flight. But if wondering why your pilot just doesn’t steer around it; it’s not always that simple. Clear air turbulence or CAT can’t be determined accurately for flights to be planned around it. The pilot will try to avoid CAT if they can since the only advance notice comes from other pilots traveling on the same route. However navigating around it doesn’t entail a smooth course either. CBS or cumulonimbus clouds can be avoided during flights, but it gets harder to do so when landing. As the plane approaches the airport, there is less altitude so it must be essential for the aircraft to be aligned with the runway five miles from touching base. But turning off course isn’t possible when landing if within the five-mile radius so if a CB cloud is in the way then sometimes landings are temporarily stopped to allow the CB to float away. 11. Beaten up and lost bags- Just because you wrote “fragile” or “handle with care” on your luggage doesn’t mean it’s tucked away nice and neatly on the plane. Checked luggage gets a beating which is literally why they call it “throwing bags” for a reason. In addition, luggage handles and wheels often crack or break on impact. Loose ends can get caught in the conveyor belt while it’s being loaded on causing tears in straps and zippers. Then there’s the pain of having your baggage lost. While employees may attest that it fell off the truck, the truth is sometimes the airport code is mistranslated. Your belongings might get placed on the wrong cart and wheeled to the wrong plane. But if your luggage winds up in a different destination, it won’t get shipped to you until it reaches the place it was scanned to go. 10. Sleeping Pilot- When it comes to being a pilot, long travel and flying can result in being on duty for 16 hours or even more without taking a break. Include the added stress of being in charge of hundreds of passengers while safely getting them to their destination and being away from your family for extended periods of time can affect your mental and physical health. On long flights, there are two pilots which are good. One pilot mans the controls and flight settings while the other one naps. While it might not be legal, naps are important to shake away the sleepiness. Despite it being illegal for pilots to take naps in the United States, controlled naps for pilots are legal in the United Kingdom. Although, I would much rather have my pilot take a quick thirty-minute nap to feel refreshed if it allows for them to be alert and aware the rest of the flight.

But no matter how much you practice in an artificial scenario, nothing can prepare you for when you’re thousands of feet above the air and disaster strikes. In this video, we’ll introduce you to some shocking flight attendants that you won’t believe exist. Carol Miller’s quick thinking saved a baby that was born prematurely on her flight. While Miller was saving a life, the Iron Women of China were being taught to bring down anyone causing trouble aboard an aircraft. Wait until you see what their training looks like! Marty Cobb has been a flight attendant for over a decade and is known for making people laugh with her unique brand of safety instructions. Being aware of a potentially serious situation can save lives, and that’s exactly what Sheila Frederick did when she saw a teenage girl who appeared to be in trouble. During an arduous 15 week training course in China, hopeful future flight attendants were delighted to see Baymax from Big Hero 6 serving them up delicious drinks. We’ll also introduce you to a woman who managed to talk a man into releasing a plane full of hostages before even leaving the runway. While pilots are often the ones that end up in the limelight, flight attendants can be just as heroic when dealing with an emergency. They say that the clothes make the man, but when it comes to the female flight attendants on VietJet, the new uniforms have made the CEO a very rich woman. Come fly the skies with TheHub as we let you in on ten secrets that flight attendants don’t want you to know. You might think that first class is all about luxury, with the extra legroom and boarding time. However, you might be surprised to learn that it’s the worst possible place to be in case of a crash. If you’ve ever silently cursed at whoever prepared your bland in-flight meal, you should know that there are actually some scientific reasons that the food you eat on a plane tastes less than stellar. We’ll also tell you the places on a plane to avoid if you’re worried about germs, and some of the sources of bacteria are rather surprising. Speaking of germs, you’re going to want to stick to bottled water for your flight, and definitely take a pass on the ice. You’re probably pretty familiar with the safety lecture given by flight attendants prior to takeoff, but there are safety measures being done behind the scenes by your pilots. Some of them affect you as well, such as when the cabin lights dim. During your trip to the bathroom, you might be surprised to learn that the door isn’t as secure as you’d like to think it would be.

CHICAGO — The secret compartments where cabin crew rest on board long-haul flights have been revealed in photos online. Photographs of secret rest cabins for pilots and flight attendants on Boeing’s flagship 787 Dreamliner were published by Australian website News.com.au. On a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the pilot’s rest cabin is usually positioned behind the cockpit and above the first class compartment. The stairway is disguised behind a security-coded door. The cabin usually has one business class seat and two bunk beds, separated by thick curtains to give the pilots a small amount of privacy. The rest cabin for flight attendants is usually located at the rear of the plane, just above the economy passenger compartment. Depending on the design of each plane, a compartment can usually accommodate at least five flight attendants. Even though some crew members complain that it feels like sleeping in a coffin, posters commenting on the story on Twitter wondered if similar rest cabins could be designed for passengers too. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
