Basic tech skills for a Product Manager

01:16:14
We see lots of entrepreneurs struggling to explain their product in a clear and concise way. As a direct consequence, they often don't know how to work with designers and developers because they don't speak their language. The role of a good entrepreneur is to break those barriers when it comes to his product. Otherwise, he won't be able to work correctly with the rest of his team. In this workshop, we will cover all the important steps in the conception of a technical product: • Product pitch: precisely define your value proposition (we'll give lots of examples) • Mockup: make a basic mockup of your app using Sketch • Database: what's the core database scheme of your product • User stories: write and organise your user stories on Trello. As an entrepreneur, this workshop will give you a simple methodology to precisely define the product you want to build and work efficiently with developers and designers without unnecessary processes or misunderstandings. We will take lots of real-life example (Product Hunt, Airbnb, etc..) to illustrate this workshop. --- Go further with Le Wagon and learn HTML, CSS, ruby, Rails, Javascript, Github, APIs and much more 🚀 during our 2 month full-time immersive bootcamp 👉 https://www.lewagon.com/program Le Wagon is the first bootcamp bringing technical skills to creative entrepreneurs in London. PowerPoint is an enterprise level software and an amazing product of Microsoft Office. It has a great potential and the kind of features it provides are so easy to understand and simple to use that every student, manager, marketing executive or sales guy can easily create brilliant professional presentations. Microsoft Office PowerPoint is often underestimated but it allows us to create presentations, logos, banners, templates, designs, graphics, and most importantly video animations. Sell Me This Pen - Best Answer For Your Sales Interview

06:50
Optimize Yourself Financially - My Own Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wR71N8450WI&list=PLXN0XO_WBISnCMZd_qDr1pfSAP50mq0M4 If you want to buy the pen I just sold a few boxes of to Elon Musk, you can get it here: http://amzn.to/2w7o6Nl If you're not happy with it I will definitely come in person to pick it up from you. Just email me at [email protected] Audible 30 day free trail: https://goo.gl/x64Vb9 Website: https://primedlifestyle.com/ Instagram: Primed Sell me this pen article: http://senatorclub.co/best-answer-to-sell-me-this-pen-i-have-ever-seen/ Sell me this pen is actually a very common demand when you go to a sales interview, and it’s not only something you see in movies. If you ever get asked this question, I want you to know exactly what to say. After watching this video, you will be able to not only convince the person asking, but blow them away with what you answer. So in this video, I will break down what to say when someone asks you to sell a pen, so you will be able to create a jaw dropping scene and crush any sales interview. when they ask this question, they will be able to see how good you are selling any product by your response. Your resume will come in second if you can demonstrate the art of selling, because that’s what it is. An art. There are four sales skills the person asking is looking for when you get asked to sell a pen. The following is the right framework so that you can respond perfectly every time. First, they want to see how well you gather information. Second, how well you respond to information. Third, how you deliver information. And last, how you ask for something, or how you close. You find out how they last used the pen, emphasize the importance of the activity they last used the pen for, sell something bigger than the pen, you know, get emotions involved. Then close it by making an offer he simply can’t decline. What if he says he’s not interested in buying your pen? Move on and realize you’re better off spending your time selling the pen to someone else. So just remember that you’re not selling the pen, but you’re demonstrating how well you can sell a product and if you master the framework and the art of selling. If you think this might help just one person in sales, please share the video with them. 2 Things Recruiters HATE To Read On Cover Letters

03:07
Download our FREE cover letter samples: https://www.workitdaily.com/cover-letter-samples/ With the way the hiring process is these days, recruiters are flooded with thousands of cover letters. Trying to sift through them all can be a daunting process. On top of this, most cover letters are generic and tell the recruiter nothing about you. But there are a couple of things recruiters really CAN'T STAND when it comes to cover letters. Career expert and Work It Daily founder J.T. O'Donnell is going to share what those things are and why you should stop doing them NOW... #1: To Whom It May Concern Using the phrase comes off as old-fashioned, impersonal, and shows that you didn't do your homework on the company. Instead use "Dear Hiring Team", "Dear Hiring Manager" or better yet find the name of the person who posted the job. # 2: Recap of your resume. Writing out your accomplishment and rehashing what's already in your resume is wasting the recruiters time. Also, you could list the wrong thing in your cover letter could make them decide you're not a good fit and they won't even look at your resume. Instead, you need a disruptive cover letter. The highest award I received was the Legion of Merit for my technical expertise as a member of the Patriot Missile Battalion defending Jerusalem during First Gulf War. After my honorable discharge I designed electronic components for Escod Industries, was a staff writer for The Taylorsville Times and was a fiber optic field engineer for Siecor (now called Corning Cable). All the while I was working those jobs I was also programming websites. So my internet programming experience goes all the way back to writing pearl scripts to interact with an Access database. After my ‘portfolio’ of websites and clients was purchased by Computer Wise I began working for Bank of America where I built the application they still use today to track all their Real Estate Holdings. Once finished, a recruiter convinced me to relocate from North Carolina to New York City where I was employed by New York University to build NYUOnline.com. Once that was complete I was offered the lead programming position with Lawtrac, a position which I held for fifteen years and when the company was sold I had attained the title of Vice President of Product development. There I functioned not only as the primary developer, but was able to tap into my marketing skills I obtained as a recruiter, the networking knowledge from my Signal Corps days, my technical writing capabilities and my leadership competencies. I was involved with every aspect of the company. I helped to build that company from the brink of bankruptcy in 2001 to one which was considered a market leader. Our clientele represented a number of industries including retail, defense, manufacturing and financial. I developed a personal working relationship with all of them allowing me to provide the marketing team an easy product to sell, the support team a product that was easy to use and troubleshoot and the custom programming team a flexible product which they could easily attach. We passed every security audit, operated internationally handling languages and currencies, I even introduced the first enterprise-wide document management system as a part of the product in 2003.

In this interview, Mark goes beyond the product manager job description and goes into detail about what his day to day was like. Mark also answers the question about how technical you need to be to be a product manager and how being too technical can actually hamper progress. Because Mark started his own company and also worked for himself as a freelancer, I wanted to know how transferable are the skills between product management and being an entrepreneur. Mark emphasizes that the skills and interests are highly transferable because product managers, designers and entrepreneurs are all alike in that they all care a little bit extra in the user experience. Skills that Mark learned on the job as a product manager that he finds highly useful when starting your own products include time management and establishing a roadmap. Mark also taps into the difficult parts of product management including dealing with ambiguity and working on projects that span months. career Many jobs require jobseekers to complete an application instead of submitting a résumé. But an application is a résumé in disguise: Its purpose is to show your qualifications. Assembling the following information about yourself in advance will make it easier to complete applications: • Identification. Be prepared to give your name, address, phone number, and Social Security number. You may also need to bring proof of identification when you pick up and drop off the application. • Employment history. List the month and year you started and ended each job; your supervisor’s name, address, and phone number; your job title, location, salary, and major duties; and your reason for leaving. • Education and certification. Know the name and city of the school you attended and the year you received your degree and the name, level, and award and renewal dates of certification. • Special skills. List any special skills you have that are closely related to the job, such as computer applications, or equipment operation. • References. Provide the names, phone numbers, and addresses of three or four people who have agreed to recommend you. When you pick up an application, don’t miss an opportunity to make a good first impression. Dress as you would for the job. Politely request two copies of the form, or make your own copies of the original before you start filling it out. Read the entire application before you begin. Then, use one copy as a rough draft and the other as the final product. Write neatly with black ink. Answer every question on the application. Write “not applicable” or “none” if a question does not apply to you. Some reviewers suggest answering “will discuss in interview” if asked for information that might disqualify you. Make a copy of your completed application. If you go back for an interview, take this record with you. Having a completed form will also make it easier to fill out the next one. Although forms do not offer the same flexibility as a résumé, you can still find ways to highlight your best qualifications. For example, you can use strong action verbs to describe your duties. If you do not have paid experience, you can give job titles to your volunteer work or list relevant academic experience, substituting student for job titles. Computer applications. If you are filling out an application for a computer database, you will want to use keywords and simple formatting. Put the most important information first. Include as much information as you can for each question without becoming wordy or repetitive. The more relevant details you provide, the better your chances of using a keyword that matches an employer’s requirements. Before submitting the form, copy and paste your answers into a word-processing program so you can check the spelling. skills for resume skills to put on a resume references on resume how long should a resume be resume action words resume objective statement good objective for resume creative resumes resume skills examples waitress resume objective statement for resume flight attendant resume objective in resume resume buzz words what is resume example resume objectives subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/mahoney8787?feature=iv&annotation_id=55aa4546-0000-2d3a-b51f-001a1148aed4&src_vid=1HDZu6V7dv4 https://twitter.com/mahoneyproducts https://www.facebook.com/brian.mahoney.501 https://www.pinterest.com/mahoneyproducts/ https://www.linkedin.com/home?trk=nav_responsive_tab_home http://www.BrianSMahoneyOnline.com http://www.youtube.com/editor marketing management 2400 marketing director salary 1900(12) marketing assistant salary 1600(2) marketing specialist salary 1600(1) director of marketing salary 1000(5) marketing degree salary 1000(7) digital marketing manager salary 880(3) business marketing salary 880(6) entry level marketing salary 880(8) product marketing manager 880 marketing manager resume 720(48) marketing manager jobs 720 product marketing manager salary 590(4) marketing salaries 590(12) marketing jobs salary 590(9) http://www.briansmahoney.com
