An Introduction to Praying with Anglican Prayer Beads and Song

10:01
The Rev. Sylvia Miller-Mutia shares a brief introduction to a prayer practice using Anglican prayer beads and songs. We begin with a 3 minute orientation to Anglican prayer beads. Then we pray around the circle of beads together once, using three songs: Come Pray with Us (Hamba Nathi), Know that God is Good (Mungu mi mwema), and Redeem Me (Original, Leah Cole.) This cycle of songs could be used at any time, especially during the season of Lent, or when praying for God's help.

SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL & LET US SHOW THE WORLD THAT WE ARE ONE IN OUR FAITH. When someone asks you to pray for them, why not pray with “Padre Pio Power”? When I heard that the prayer was written by St. Margaret Mary Alacoqu, was the one Padre Pio would use when people asked him to pray for them, I needed no further encouragement for choosing this prayer in the same way. Padre Pio has tens of thousands of miracles associated with him, including the healing of a very good friend of Pope John Paul II. When you use this prayer, keep a journal to record these special intentions. Keep in mind this type of petition is for specific needs such as gainful employment, healing from an illness, etc. After some time has passed, refer back to this journal to record the amazing way God answers these prayers. Due to our limited view and God’s eternal view, it is important to always trust that He knows far better what is really needed in these situations. Praying With the Triple Goddess Prayer Beads

08:41
Me demonstrating how I use the Triple Goddess Prayer Beads I made. I found most of the prayers I use here http://sacredstrands.webs.com/prayerbeadrosarylinks.htm I use 13 beads in each section for the 13 full moons in one year. Opening Prayer: "Great Goddess, Lady of Life, Whose garment is the shining Heavens. You are the white Moon among the stars and the beauty of the green Earth. You are the Oneness of all things and the completion of the Spirit. You are the Mystery that if that which we seek we find not within, we will never find it without. For you have been here since the beginning and you are that which is attained at the end of desire. Great Goddess, Lady of Life, Three that are One, You are everything; the Earth under my feet, the Air which I breath, the Water which purifys me and the Fire that illuminates my path. Great Goddess, I look within and I see your Light shining." Maiden-"Maiden of freedom, You are the eternal Virgin, the Holy Bride of Nature and the revealing Light within the Shadows. Through you all that is good comes to birth." Mother-"Mother of Compassion, forever fertile, Lady of the forge. You are the creating force of Love and the strength which nourishes all that lives. Through you the cause of Life is served." Crone-"Crone of Wisdom, Ancient One, Keeper of the Cauldron. You stand at the gates between the worlds and carry the shining sickle of Death. Without you nothing can be transformed." Closing Prayer: "Oh Holy and Blessed Lady, Perpetual Comfort of humankind and all creatures, who by your bounty and grace sustains the whole world. You bear great compassion to the troubles of the miserable as a loving Mother would. You are the natural Mother of all things, Mistress and Governess of all the elements, first of the Gods celestial, Light of the Goddesses." "By the Power and Will of She that is Three, Blessed Be!" (please forgive my wounded hand, I wounded myself at work creating a display ugh lol.) May the Triple Goddess bless us all )O(

Prayer Beads for United Methodists

03:35
More at http://umc.org/videos. Kristen Vincent admits there was a time when she didn’t pray much because finding the words felt awkward. Today Vincent and her United Methodist pastor husband make prayer beads and teach people to pray with them. Each bead on a prayer strand can represent a word, a praise, or a person you would like to lift up. Vincent says prayer beads can help anyone, even children, find focus in prayer. "Just holding them in your hand is a way of understanding that God is as close to you as the beads are in your hand. My hope overall is that people will understand that God is with them at every moment of every day,” says Vincent. This channel is managed by United Methodist Communications in Nashville, TN. Why Does We Use Beads While Praying To The Gohonzon?

02:03
Usually, when members pray to the Gohonzon, they hold a set of prayer beads in their hands. While holding the beads in one’s hands, one is said to be holding one’s life as the beads are fashioned after one’s body. The three tufts on the right are our head and both arms; the crossing over of the loop between our left and right palms indicates our navel; the two tufts on the left are our two legs. It is customary to place the prayer beads around the middle fingers of both hands — the three tufts on the right and the two tufts on the left — twisting the loop so that it crosses over in the middle between our palms. Each set of prayer beads has 108 beads which represent the 108 earthly desires, the sources of suffering. The four smaller beads represent the leaders of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth who have vowed to work for the happiness of all humanity. When we hold the prayer beads in our hands and chant daimoku and do gongyo before the Gohonzon, it is as if we are in control of our desires and suffering and not being controlled by them. And we can transform all our problems and suffering into fuel for our happiness. Using beads, however, forms a part of the ‘ritual’ aspect of faith. They have no special power and are not an essential part of the Buddhist practice. The substance and conviction of our faith are what matter most.

FORTY PRAYERS FOR THE FORTY DAYS OF LENT - DAY 18

21:08
FORTY PRAYERS FOR THE FORTY DAYS OF LENT - DAY 18 Day 18: Saturday , The Second Week of Lent Prayer To bless an enemy MEDITATE: Colossians 1:27 PRAY: Lord, I pray that focusing on contentment with who you designed me to be for forty days would help me to relish in the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection more. He died so that I could have a full an abundant life, not so that I could hide and cower. I pray that I realize more than I do now that Jesus is in the Father, I am in Christ, and Christ is in me. REFLECT: How are you finding contentment in Christ in this season? YOUR $1.00 DONATION IS A BIG HELP TO OUR PRAYER WARRIOR COMMUNITY. WE LIFT UP YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT TO THE LORD JESUS. THANK YOU. http://tinyurl.com/prayerwarriorfunds The season of Lent is a journey of 40 days. It has a beginning, Ash Wednesday and an ending, Easter. Jesus had His own journey of 40 days which prepared Him well for His ministry and ultimately for His Passion, Death and Resurrection. May the Lenten journey of 2017 prepare us for life in Christ. Pope Francis writes in his Message for Lent 2017 “May the Holy Spirit lead us on a true journey of conversion.” To achieve this goal we need to bring on the journey a resolve to pray more; a commitment to really deny ourselves and a desire to better practice charity. The Holy Father reminds us that “Lent is a favorable season for deepening our spiritual life through the means of sanctification offered us by the church: fasting, prayer, and almsgiving.” More prayer convinces us that God is close and that we are loved by Him. Self-denial reminds us that we have a destiny beyond this life and that we need to depend more on God and less on self. Charity makes us see beyond ourselves to others, especially the poor, the needy and the suffering and to see them as our sisters and brothers. The Holy Father’s Lenten Message focuses on the parable of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). I suggest that you read this Scripture each week during the Lenten journey and allow the Word of God like a two-edged sword to penetrate you. It teaches about opening our eyes to see those in need around us; it counsels us to use all that is available to heed God’s word and grow in God’s love. New growth is also encouraged through the traditional practices of prayer, fasting and almsgiving that characterize the Lenten season. All of us can do more prayer. Invest extra time. Get up earlier. Sit quietly with the Lord. Get to Mass during the week, participate in Eucharistic adoration or the Stations of the Cross. The same goes for fasting. We have plenty. Even too much. To deprive ourselves can lead to greater dependence on God. Perhaps you can consider attending one of the simple Lenten meals offered in our parishes. Charity forces us to not ignore those who have less. With them Christ Himself identified. May our practice of charity help us to see Him in the poor, suffering, and needy who benefit from our charity. Lent is a call to be better Christians for ourselves, our families and our communities. May this journey of Lent be successful for each of us. May we be renewed and grow in Christ as we travel these 40 days. Credit To: Most Reverend Dennis J. Sullivan, D.D. THE HOLY ROSARY

20:01
#HolyRosary #rosary #MamaMary #Catholic #praise Start by making the sign of the Cross: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Then recite the Apostle's Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen. Then say 1 Our Father, 3 Hail Marys (for the virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity) and then 1 Glory Be: Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen. GLORY BE to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. The Rosary is essentially the decades and their associated mysteries, and only these must be prayed to "pray the rosary", either in satisfaction of Our Lady's requests, or, to gain the indulgences attached to praying the rosary. The traditional Rosary is divided into three parts, each having five mysteries: Glorious, Joyful and Sorrowful. In his apostolic letter The Rosary of the Virgin Mary, Pope John Paul II proposed a new set of mysteries, which he called the Luminous, and which concern the period of the public life of Our Lord. For those who wish to say all 20 decades at once during the course of a day, they may be said in the following order: Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious. For those who wish to say only 5 decades per day, the Holy Father proposed the following schedule: Mondays & Saturdays: JOYFUL MYSTERY (1. Annunciation 2. Visitation 3. Nativity 4. Presentation at the Temple 5. Finding in the Temple) Tuesdays & Fridays: SORROWFUL MYSTERY (1. Agony of Jesus in the Garden 2. Scourging of Jesus at Pillar 3. Crowning with Thorns 4. Carrying the Cross 5. Crucifixion) Wednesdays & Sundays: GLORIOUS MYSTERY (1. Resurrection of Jesus 2. Ascension of Jesus 3. Descent of Holy Spirit 4. Assumption of the Virgin Mary 5. Coronation of Blessed Virgin Mary) Thursdays: LUMINOUS MYSTERY (1. Baptism of Jesus 2. Wedding at Cana 3. The proclamation of the Kingdom of God 4. The Transfiguration 5. The institution of the Eucharist) While meditating on the Mysteries, recite: One Our Father (large beads), 10 Hail Marys (small beads) and 1 Glory Be (before the next large bead) to make a complete decade of the rosary. After each decade the Fátima Prayer may also be said (Pope Pius XII). O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are in most need of Thy mercy. Concluding Prayers After the completion of five mysteries (5 decades), or 15 or 20, the following is customarily said: Hail Holy Queen (or Salve Regina may be sung) Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. (Verse) Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. (Response) That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Rosary Prayer (Verse) Let us pray, (Response) O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation. Grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, that we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through Christ our Lord. Amen. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us. 💗🌹💗🌹💗🌹💗 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/BehGerElle14/featured?disable_polymer=1 Youtube 2nd account: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2yVlapBF6Crg9H70_t7RyA Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CHRIST27elle Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/___christelle27/

ROSARY FOR THE HOLY SOULS. Souls Who Receive Our Prayers Are Purified And Prepared To Enter Heaven

38:00
ROSARY FOR THE HOLY SOULS. Souls Who Receive Our Prayers Are Purified And Prepared To Enter Heaven In regards to the Church Militant (that’s us!) praying for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, St. Alphonsus Liguori wrote: “The practice of recommending to God the souls in Purgatory, that He may mitigate the great pains which they suffer, and that He may soon bring them to His glory, is most pleasing to the Lord and most profitable to us. For these blessed souls are His eternal spouses, and most grateful are they to those who obtain their deliverance from prison, or even a mitigation of their torments. When, therefore, they arrive in Heaven, they will be sure to remember all who have prayed for them.” What an incredible exchange of love! We can pray for the Holy Souls now, since they can no longer pray for themselves, and when they reach heaven they can intercede on our behalf. This powerful reflection reminds us of the beautiful reality of the mystical Body of Christ in which we, the souls in heaven, and the souls in purgatory all share! In light of this inspiration, how can we pray more specifically and intentionally for the Holy Souls? One beautiful way to intercede for them is to offer the recitation of the rosary on their behalf. Our Lady told St. Bridget: “I am the Mother of all the Poor Souls, for my prayers serve to mitigate their sufferings every single hour that they remain there (in Purgatory).” While Mary herself never experienced the stain of sin, her life was, like ours, a journey of faith with Christ. What better way to pray than to ask our Mother, and the Mother of All Souls, to aid the souls in purgatory as they are being perfected in Christ on their journey to heaven. With this in mind, I’d like to share with you a breathtaking means by which we can pray in a special way for the poor souls in purgatory: The Catholic Company’s exclusive Holy Souls Rosary! Inspiration from a Holy Woman Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, a 19th century mystic, experienced multiple visions of purgatory. In one, she saw suffering souls go from dark to light as she prayed fervently for them. (You might be interested and surprised to know that this same holy woman’s visions on the passion of Jesus form the basis for the worldwide acclaimed film, “The Passion of the Christ.”) Very moved by such imagery, The Catholic Company decided to design a rosary based on this vision. The opening beads and first decade of the rosary have a coal-black hue. As you continue praying, the beads lighten, and end in lovely pure white pearls, signifying the fact that the souls who receive our prayers are purified and prepared to enter heaven. A Unique Crucifix The crucifix on this rosary is a unique one called the “Unity Cross.” Its roots come from the Schoenstatt movement, but it has quickly spread far and wide outside the movement. In the image, Mary stands beneath the cross of Christ, and catches in a chalice the Precious Blood which falls from Christ’s pierced heart. This captures an intimate moment of attachment and union between Mother and Son—a union that each member of the Body of Christ shares in and strives for. How to Pray the Rosary HD

10:58
How to Pray the Rosary [http://bit.ly/2sIysHf] The Rosary is a Scripture-based prayer to help us remember the mysteries of our salvation, and to thank and praise God for them. There are twenty mysteries reflected upon in the Rosary, and these are divided into: The five JOYFUL MYSTERIES The five LUMINOUS MYSTERIES The five SORROWFUL MYSTERIES The five GLORIOUS MYSTERIES The repetition in saying the Rosary leads one into restful and contemplative prayer related to each Mystery. Also the gentle repetition of the words helps us to enter into the silence of our hearts, where Christ's spirit dwells. The Rosary can be said privately or with a group.
