An Introduction to Praying with Anglican Prayer Beads and Song

10:01
The Rev. Sylvia Miller-Mutia shares a brief introduction to a prayer practice using Anglican prayer beads and songs. We begin with a 3 minute orientation to Anglican prayer beads. Then we pray around the circle of beads together once, using three songs: Come Pray with Us (Hamba Nathi), Know that God is Good (Mungu mi mwema), and Redeem Me (Original, Leah Cole.) This cycle of songs could be used at any time, especially during the season of Lent, or when praying for God's help.

Praying With the Triple Goddess Prayer Beads

08:41
Me demonstrating how I use the Triple Goddess Prayer Beads I made. I found most of the prayers I use here http://sacredstrands.webs.com/prayerbeadrosarylinks.htm I use 13 beads in each section for the 13 full moons in one year. Opening Prayer: "Great Goddess, Lady of Life, Whose garment is the shining Heavens. You are the white Moon among the stars and the beauty of the green Earth. You are the Oneness of all things and the completion of the Spirit. You are the Mystery that if that which we seek we find not within, we will never find it without. For you have been here since the beginning and you are that which is attained at the end of desire. Great Goddess, Lady of Life, Three that are One, You are everything; the Earth under my feet, the Air which I breath, the Water which purifys me and the Fire that illuminates my path. Great Goddess, I look within and I see your Light shining." Maiden-"Maiden of freedom, You are the eternal Virgin, the Holy Bride of Nature and the revealing Light within the Shadows. Through you all that is good comes to birth." Mother-"Mother of Compassion, forever fertile, Lady of the forge. You are the creating force of Love and the strength which nourishes all that lives. Through you the cause of Life is served." Crone-"Crone of Wisdom, Ancient One, Keeper of the Cauldron. You stand at the gates between the worlds and carry the shining sickle of Death. Without you nothing can be transformed." Closing Prayer: "Oh Holy and Blessed Lady, Perpetual Comfort of humankind and all creatures, who by your bounty and grace sustains the whole world. You bear great compassion to the troubles of the miserable as a loving Mother would. You are the natural Mother of all things, Mistress and Governess of all the elements, first of the Gods celestial, Light of the Goddesses." "By the Power and Will of She that is Three, Blessed Be!" (please forgive my wounded hand, I wounded myself at work creating a display ugh lol.) May the Triple Goddess bless us all )O(

THE HOLY ROSARY

20:01
#HolyRosary #rosary #MamaMary #Catholic #praise Start by making the sign of the Cross: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Then recite the Apostle's Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen. Then say 1 Our Father, 3 Hail Marys (for the virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity) and then 1 Glory Be: Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen. GLORY BE to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. The Rosary is essentially the decades and their associated mysteries, and only these must be prayed to "pray the rosary", either in satisfaction of Our Lady's requests, or, to gain the indulgences attached to praying the rosary. The traditional Rosary is divided into three parts, each having five mysteries: Glorious, Joyful and Sorrowful. In his apostolic letter The Rosary of the Virgin Mary, Pope John Paul II proposed a new set of mysteries, which he called the Luminous, and which concern the period of the public life of Our Lord. For those who wish to say all 20 decades at once during the course of a day, they may be said in the following order: Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious. For those who wish to say only 5 decades per day, the Holy Father proposed the following schedule: Mondays & Saturdays: JOYFUL MYSTERY (1. Annunciation 2. Visitation 3. Nativity 4. Presentation at the Temple 5. Finding in the Temple) Tuesdays & Fridays: SORROWFUL MYSTERY (1. Agony of Jesus in the Garden 2. Scourging of Jesus at Pillar 3. Crowning with Thorns 4. Carrying the Cross 5. Crucifixion) Wednesdays & Sundays: GLORIOUS MYSTERY (1. Resurrection of Jesus 2. Ascension of Jesus 3. Descent of Holy Spirit 4. Assumption of the Virgin Mary 5. Coronation of Blessed Virgin Mary) Thursdays: LUMINOUS MYSTERY (1. Baptism of Jesus 2. Wedding at Cana 3. The proclamation of the Kingdom of God 4. The Transfiguration 5. The institution of the Eucharist) While meditating on the Mysteries, recite: One Our Father (large beads), 10 Hail Marys (small beads) and 1 Glory Be (before the next large bead) to make a complete decade of the rosary. After each decade the Fátima Prayer may also be said (Pope Pius XII). O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are in most need of Thy mercy. Concluding Prayers After the completion of five mysteries (5 decades), or 15 or 20, the following is customarily said: Hail Holy Queen (or Salve Regina may be sung) Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. (Verse) Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. (Response) That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Rosary Prayer (Verse) Let us pray, (Response) O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation. Grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, that we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through Christ our Lord. Amen. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us. ✝️💙 If you are struggling with life's challenges, I recommend talking to a licensed, Christian counselor on Faithful Counseling. Why Does We Use Beads While Praying To The Gohonzon?

02:03
Usually, when members pray to the Gohonzon, they hold a set of prayer beads in their hands. While holding the beads in one’s hands, one is said to be holding one’s life as the beads are fashioned after one’s body. The three tufts on the right are our head and both arms; the crossing over of the loop between our left and right palms indicates our navel; the two tufts on the left are our two legs. It is customary to place the prayer beads around the middle fingers of both hands — the three tufts on the right and the two tufts on the left — twisting the loop so that it crosses over in the middle between our palms. Each set of prayer beads has 108 beads which represent the 108 earthly desires, the sources of suffering. The four smaller beads represent the leaders of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth who have vowed to work for the happiness of all humanity. When we hold the prayer beads in our hands and chant daimoku and do gongyo before the Gohonzon, it is as if we are in control of our desires and suffering and not being controlled by them. And we can transform all our problems and suffering into fuel for our happiness. Using beads, however, forms a part of the ‘ritual’ aspect of faith. They have no special power and are not an essential part of the Buddhist practice. The substance and conviction of our faith are what matter most.

THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY (ROSARY)

17:31
At three o'clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy. In this hour, I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion (Diary, 1320). As often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; invoke its omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners; for at that moment mercy was opened wide for every soul. In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others for the asking; it was the hour of grace for the whole world — mercy triumphed over justice. (1572)

THE LUMINOUS MYSTERIES Thursday Special thanks to: Fr. Kevin Scallon & Dana Rosemary Scallon THE MEMORARE ============== REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Please continue praying for the World Peace and Love & Respect One Another, Amen.

The Rosary

23:12
The Rosary is divided into five decades. Each decade represents a mystery or event in the life of Jesus. There are four sets of "Mysteries of the Rosary" (Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious). These four "Mysteries of the Rosary" therefore contain, a total of twenty mysteries. The Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries are then said on specific days of the week (see each set of mysteries below). During private recitation of the Rosary, each decade requires devout meditation on a specific mystery. Public recitation of the Rosary (two or more people), requires a leader to announce each of the mysteries before the decade, and start each prayer (see "The Family Rosary" below). The Apostle's Creed is said on the Crucifix; the Our Father is said on each of the Large Beads; the Hail Mary is said on each of the Small Beads; the Glory Be after the three Hail Mary's at the beginning of the Rosary, and after each decade of Small Beads. In June 13, 1917, Our Lady asked that an additional prayer be added after each decade of the Rosary (see prayers at the end of this document). It is a prayer of forgiveness to Jesus and is said following the Glory Be after each decade only. (From: http://www.medjugorje.org/rosary.htm)

Praying with Prayer Beads and malas

14:59
About half way in, while making this video about how one can use prayer beads and malas, I stepped into a real life moment. Instead of a demonstration, I made it personal and real. How can you construct a tactile object that best fits your heart and your needs? I used a compass "tune-in" pendant and talked about where I had been and where I wanted to go, as I instructed how to "tune-in" and take the space, I stepped into a personal journey of what 4 realities I wanted to leave behind in 2016! A mini-course became a life adventure, as I allowed the compass to metaphorically lead me! That's what I want for you! The UHURU Collection is about FREEDOM! (UHURU = Swahili for freedom) You don't need one of our prayer beads or malas to get there, we just want you to get there! What are 4 of the things you are leaving behind you, and what 4 things are you taking forward... Take a look at the video, WATCH the entire class and pause as you go! In 2017 we will be doing in person classes and classes online, invite us to you company retreat, your church, your women's or men's group! Let's create safe and vibrant places together!

Rosary No More: Why I Stopped Praying My Rosary!

09:25
For those of you who are not familiar with the Rosary, the Rosary is a set of beads, each bead representing a prayer. The majority of those beads represent a prayer well known as the "Hail Mary" and there are 53 "Hail Mary's" on each bead set of 5 decades. There are also larger beads which would represent the Lord's prayer (Our Father) but there are only 6 of them on the rosary. There is a crucifix on the end, and the "Apostles Creed" would be said on that, and there are also "Glory Be" prayers that are said on that Rosary. Rosary Beads are big sellers in Roman Catholic stores, and they are made out of different materials including plastic, wood, glass and various metals. Some Rosary bead sets can even glow in the dark, and I owned a pair of them. People are taught to pray the Hail Mary at a very young age, and though they may not attend a Catholic Church for years, they will still remember the Hail Mary prayer. You will often hear the Hail Mary prayed in its entirety at Roman Catholic wakes inside the funeral parlour. Often the prayer is led by the local Catholic Priest. He will pray the first part which goes like this: "Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou, amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus." The Roman Catholics who are in attendance will then respond with the second part of the Hail Mary, which is as follows: "Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death, Amen." This would continue until all 5 decades of the Rosary were said, and it would often sound like a chant, as the Priest did his part and we did our part. It kind of made me feel good, to rattle off all my Hail Mary's along with the rest of the people, but it never gave me any spiritual help at all in my life! I have prayed the Hail Mary, thousands of times. I can remember praying that prayer at Roman Catholic wakes and funerals, hoping that the person who died would not suffer too long in Purgatory. I would hope that Mary would remember me at the time of my own death. Jesus was not even part of the equation in my prayers to Mary. She was the one who I called upon, and she was the one that the Catholic Priests taught me to call upon at the hour of my death. The Lord Jesus Christ set me free from the darkness of Roman Catholicism, and it's false Gospel over 20 years ago, and people are being seduced in our day, like never before! There is very little resistance to Rome, in the pulpits in our time, even though many know Rome preaches a false gospel. Many are afraid of offending other "big name Christians" whose ministries are known around the world. Could it be that they are receiving funding from the compromisers, and do not want to lose that funding, should they speak out? God only knows if that is the case, but if it is I surely pity them. Many "leaders" of large churches (not just the name-it, claim-it people) own multi million dollar homes, which were purchased by the profits that they have made. Do you think that they want to bring any hatred or persecution their way, that might upset their lavish lifestyle? I do not think so! Where are the TRUE men of God in our modern day. Folks this is absolute SPIRITUAL INSANITY! Thousands (millions?) of men, and women of God have sacrificed their very lives, as a result of fighting against the false teachings of Rome, and we have their "goods" being peddled on the TBN "Christian" website! Hello is anybody listening?

How to Pray the Rosary HD

10:58
How to Pray the Rosary [http://bit.ly/2sIysHf] The Rosary is a Scripture-based prayer to help us remember the mysteries of our salvation, and to thank and praise God for them. There are twenty mysteries reflected upon in the Rosary, and these are divided into: The five JOYFUL MYSTERIES The five LUMINOUS MYSTERIES The five SORROWFUL MYSTERIES The five GLORIOUS MYSTERIES The repetition in saying the Rosary leads one into restful and contemplative prayer related to each Mystery. Also the gentle repetition of the words helps us to enter into the silence of our hearts, where Christ's spirit dwells. The Rosary can be said privately or with a group.
