Minecraft is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on Minecraft is designed and constructed by members of the community. Minecraft is designed for 8 to 18 year old, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore Minecraft — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet to be dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, Minecraft members can earn speciality badges as well as Minecraft dollars (“Minecraft”). In turn, they can shop the online catalogue to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.
War Hammer | Cold Steel Medieval Weapons

Available at OsoGrandeKnives.com - America's Cutlery Specialists: http://www.osograndeknives.com/catalog/axes-and-hatchets/cold-steel-war-hammer-spike-90wha-25378.html Cold Steel 90WH War Hammer. At the end of the 13th century, the sword ruled supreme as the primary weapon of Knights and Men-At-Arms. However, with the introduction of steel plate armor, the popularity of the sword as a battlefield weapon began to wane. You see, the problem was the sword couldn't cut or crush steel plate and had to be specially designed for use only as a thrusting weapon if it was to have even a chance at piercing plate armor. Enter the War Hammer- an ideal weapon for use against an opponent who is encased in plate steel. The heavy hammer head could crush the strongest helmet or suit of plate armor with just a few blows and the back spike could rip through helm and plate like a modern can opener! In battle, the hammer side was usually employed first to knock down and stun an enemy. Once he was on the ground, helpless, the hammer was reversed and the back spike was used to punch a hole through the helmet and deliver the coup de grace. Now Cold Steel brings you an inexpensive, yet highly effective, recreation of this awesome weapon. Weighing a little over 2.5 lbs., our War Hammer is highly maneuverable and can be easily wielded with one or both hands. The head is drop forged out of 5150 steel and differentially heat treated . This means the point of the spike and enormous hammer face (11/2" x 11/2") are fully hardened so they can pierce and crush tough materials without failing while the rest of the hammer is left soft to absorb the shock of heavy blows. The handle of our War Hammer has been designed to be equally tough. Made of straight grain American Hickory and measuring 30" long it provides tremendous leverage so enormously powerful blows may be struck. To protect the handle from assault by an opponent armed with an edged weapon we have included a pair of sturdy steel langets which can be attached below the head with the screws provided. (Some assembly is required. Instructions are included). The Cold Steel War Hammer features a 7.37 inch head length, with a 5.25 inch spike and a hammer with a hardened face. The head is made of drop forged and heat treated 5150 Steel. It's cutting edge is differentially . The head has a functional hammer poll with a hardened face so you can drives nails, hammer in stakes, and smash or crush just about anything. The 30.0" handle is made of straight grained American hickory and includes langettes. Head Weight: 19.5 oz., Entire Weight: 39.8 oz. Half-swording - Why grabbing a sharp blade in a sword fight is not crazy

08:58
This is a technique from the historical fencing manuals that may seem very odd at first. Many people say "why would you grab a sharp blade with bare hands, you're gonna cut yourself!" But with a firm grip it is indeed possible. There were good reasons for doing this in medieval / renaissance times of plate armor that was impervious to sword cuts. Half-swording allows gives the user more precise control over the point, which can then be driven into the gaps of the armor. Alternatively the blade can be grasped with both hands in order to strike with the crossguard or pommel (the so-called Mordschlag, or "murder stroke"). Or you could grip the blade to do various wrestling techniques. In this video I also give a hands-on (pun intended) demonstration of this technique in order to prove that it is indeed possible to do this without getting cut. Putting the off-hand on the blade is not limited to HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) by the way, it is also seen in Japanese swordsmanship, were sometimes the left hand is placed on the spine of the blade. The swords used in this video are the following: 1.) Swords on the back - Historical or Fantasy?

14:44
We often see characters of films and videogames carry their swords on the back and draw them swiftly when getting ready for combat. Is this entirely fictional? Or is there at least a minimum base of history in this practice? A sword is a long bladed weapon intended for slashing or thrusting. The precise definition of the term varies with the historical epoch or the geographical region under consideration. A sword consists of a long blade attached to a hilt. The blade can be straight or curved. Thrusting swords have a pointed tip on the blade, and tend to be straighter; slashing swords have sharpened cutting edge on one or both sides of the blade, and are more likely to be curved. Many swords are designed for both thrusting and slashing. Historically, the sword developed in the Bronze Age, evolving from the dagger; the earliest specimens date to about 1600 BC. The later Iron Age sword remained fairly short and without a crossguard. The spatha, as it developed in the Late Roman army, became the predecessor of the European sword of the Middle Ages, at first adopted as the Migration period sword, and only in the High Middle Ages, developed into the classical arming sword with crossguard. The word sword continues the Old English, sweord. During the Middle Ages sword technology improved, and the sword became a very advanced weapon. It was frequently used by men in battle, particularly during an attack. The spatha type remained popular throughout the Migration period and well into the Middle Ages. Vendel Age spathas were decorated with Germanic artwork (not unlike the Germanic bracteates fashioned after Roman coins). The Viking Age saw again a more standardized production, but the basic design remained indebted to the spatha. Around the 10th century, the use of properly quenched hardened and tempered steel started to become much more common than in previous periods. The Frankish 'Ulfberht' blades (the name of the maker inlaid in the blade) were of particularly consistent high quality. Charles the Bald tried to prohibit the export of these swords, as they were used by Vikings in raids against the Franks. Wootz steel which is also known as Damascus steel was a unique and highly prized steel developed on the Indian subcontinent as early as the 5th century BC. Its properties were unique due to the special smelting and reworking of the steel creating networks of iron carbides described as a globular cementite in a matrix of pearlite. The use of Damascus steel in swords became extremely popular in the 16th and 17th centuries. It was only from the 11th century that Norman swords began to develop the crossguard (quillons). During the Crusades of the 12th to 13th century, this cruciform type of arming sword remained essentially stable, with variations mainly concerning the shape of the pommel. These swords were designed as cutting weapons, although effective points were becoming common to counter improvements in armour, especially the 14th-century change from mail to plate armour. It was during the 14th century, with the growing use of more advanced armour, that the hand and a half sword, also known as a "bastard sword", came into being. It had an extended grip that meant it could be used with either one or two hands. Though these swords did not provide a full two-hand grip they allowed their wielders to hold a shield or parrying dagger in their off hand, or to use it as a two-handed sword for a more powerful blow. The names given to many swords in mythology, literature, and history reflected the high prestige of the weapon and the wealth of the owner. The Oakeshott typology was created by historian and illustrator Ewart Oakeshott as a way to define and catalogue the medieval sword based on physical form. It categorizes the swords of the European Middle Ages (roughly 11th to 15th centuries) into 13 main types labelled X to XXII. Oakeshott introduced it in his treatise The Archaeology of Weapons: Arms and Armour from Prehistory to the Age of Chivalry in 1960. The system is a continuation of Jan Petersen's typology of the Viking sword, introduced in De Norske Vikingsverd ("The Norwegian Viking Swords", 1919), modified in 1927 by R. E. M. Wheeler into a typology of nine types labelled I to IX.

The Sword

Here I explain every single part of the European medieval sword, parts such as the hilt, the cross-guard, the tang and so on. Sword & Shield? Two Handed Sword? My Preference Based On History/Sparring

15:22
A video where I talk about my personal experience with combat and sparring and justify my personal choices through practice and historical understanding. General info on swords A sword is a long bladed weapon intended for slashing or thrusting. Weapons Breaking in Battle

13:37
Historically, the sword developed in the Bronze Age, evolving from the dagger; the earliest specimens date to about 1600 BC. The later Iron Age sword remained short and without a crossguard. The spatha became the predecessor of the European sword of the Middle Ages and only in the High Middle Ages, developed into the classical arming sword with crossguard. The use of a sword is known as swordsmanship or as fencing. In the Early Modern period, western sword design diverged into roughly two forms, the thrusting swords and the sabers. Non-European weapons called "sword" include single-edged weapons such as the Middle Eastern scimitar, the Chinese dao and the related Japanese katana. The Chinese jian is an example of a non-European double-edged sword, like the European models derived from the double-edged Iron Age sword. Sword typology is based on morphological criteria on one hand and age and place of origin on the other. The relatively comprehensive Oakeshott typology was created by historian and illustrator Ewart Oakeshott to define and catalogue European swords of the medieval period based on physical form, including blade shape and hilt configuration. Airsoft with a kick: Blowback explained!

They bring tons of shooting fun at very little cost and are still very realistic! This video reviews two "blowpack" versions, one is a clone of a Beretta F92 (aka "M9") pistol, one is an M4 clone (short barrel silenced version). The pistol actually has a fully functional slide and works very much like the real gun, which makes it a very viable practice weapon as well. The M4 clone has a special method to create a very realistic recoil effect. How this is done is explained by means of a specifically designed slingshot rifle that creates enough "simulated" recoil to crack walnuts! A "The Slingshot Channel" production.

James D. Julia Auctioneers will be offering Session 2 in the 16 March 2015 Firearms Auction, the extraordinary Springfield Arsenal LLC Collection of rare antique cannons. Here's the online illustrated catalog of our nearly 100 fine cannons, cannon models, and accouterments--scroll about 1/10 way down the page to item 2038 and start there: http://jamesdjulia.com/auction/373-march-2015-firearms-auction-tradition-continues/?session=2 This collection in its entirety will represent what is believed to be the finest, largest, and most diverse offering of antique cannons to ever come to auction (to our knowledge). This auction will include approximately 28 tons of these cannons. Over the years, John Morris (one of the world's leading authorities on antique cannons) has prepared a number of YouTube videos depicting these cannons. Please see the list of 100 cannons to be sold, including a US 8" mortar M1861, here: http://www.springfieldarsenal.net/main.sc Mortars were very important weapons for use in and around fixed fortifications and entrenchments during the Civil War. In this outstanding educational video, you will see an 8-inch siege mortar fired with live (explosive!) ammunition. You will learn how to aim, load, and service the mortar after firing it. The duties of the crew are detailed as well. This video may use material, both audio and video, that is subject to the Fair Use provisions of section 107 of the copyright act of 1976.

Cold Steel MAA Hand and a Half Dagger 88HNHDM Knife Review | OsoGrandeKnives

02:48
Click here for detail specs or to buy this knife: http://www.osograndeknives.com/catalog/swords/cold-steel-maa-hand-and-a-half-dagger-88hnhdm-25362.html The Man at Arms was a warrior, pure and simple. A stalwart and dependable fighter who exhibited great martial prowess with a range of weapons. He was a capable and competent warrior who was the veteran of many conflicts and was often first into the fray. Although he was not a Knight, he fought and trained alongside them as a brother in arms. To honor these rugged, reliable, salt-of-the-earth warriors Cold Steel has created a range of true journeyman's weapons called the Man at Arms Collection. These practical and battle ready weapons lack the gleaming blades and polished silver steelwork, but they pack a resounding punch where it counts! The Man at Arms collection features approximating the same quality and performance of Cold Steel's high end swords but at a markedly reduced price. This Man at Arms sword features a fully sharpened and blued blade with a distinctive gun metal finish that compliments the black leather handle, and when well-oiled it is gleamingly beautiful. If you always wanted a Cold Steel sword, but couldn't afford one, the Man at Arms collection is for you. Specifications: Item Number: 88HNHDM Name: MAA Hand-And-A-Half Dagger Blade Length: 13" Overall Length: 19 1/2" Steel: 1055 Carbon Weight: 19.4 oz. Handle: 6 1/2" Scabbard: Leather Scabbard With Blued Steel Fittings View all Cold Steel Knives... http://www.osograndeknives.com/store/catalog/m-cold-steel-knives-57-1.html Connect with us: Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCisEjTTEEcQi4Jrwcx98TpA Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/OsoGrandeKnives/136063446536995 Google+: https://plus.google.com/111141540911705284012/posts Twitter: https://twitter.com/OsoGrandeKnives Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/osograndeknives/ Knife Blog: http://osograndeknives.blogspot.com/ Official Website: http://www.osograndeknives.com/
