Top 5 Oldest Logos in the World
Even before global marketing campaigns, television commercials, and social media, a company’s logo has been important. Over time, as businesses and consumers have changed, most major companies have also changed their logos dramatically. Still, some logos have had incredible staying power and have lasted for decades or even hundreds of years. The world’s oldest logos have all retained some core visual element, although several have been noticeably altered. Stella Artois, for example, is recognized by several details of its icon. The horn and the star resting above the label are the features continually represented in the brand’s history. Sub @ www.youtube.com/WhatABrand Like @ www.facebook.com/KARAStudios

France Télévisions Rebrand (2018) (HD)
On the 29th of January, it was the end of France Télévisions’ “perspective screens” logos introduced in 2002, as the group changed for dots, with new on-air designs and new logos reminding of France Info. Major changes can be seen: France Ô (a channel dedicated to ultramarine territories that also airs in mainland France) and Outre-Mer 1 (the first public channel in ultramarine territories) now have the same colour for their logos and the same on-air design; FranceTV Sport introduced a new on-air design that changes colour depending on the channel but takes over the channel’s very on-air design, with trailers, ad break idents and intros based on stripes imitating the gestures of the sport that airs; On the 5th of February, France 3 rebranded their news programs after nearly 10 years, with a common set design for regional stations and a remix of the tune. Brand strategy: Joosnabhan Logos and global branding: Movement FranceTV Global and FranceTVSport music : HiTnRuN France 3 news: Ramon + Pedro France 4 sound design: Soundress Idents: France 2: Red Bee Creative (2016, footage), Movement (2018, animation) France 3: Gédéon (2011) France 4: MotionFanClub (2018) France 5: Movement (2012, directed by Alphabetical Order) Big thanks to RicePlay33 for the footage! © Bintro, France Télévisions 1080p50, 2017

How to design a successful logo? How to build a famous brand for your business? Some of the most well-known logos in the world were purposefully designed to indicate something much more than simple beauty. In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve, and color has meaning behind it. Adidas, Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola, Toyota… We see these famous brands everywhere but never consider what their logos exactly mean. Curious to know the secret? Watch the 16 famous logos with a hidden meaning you've never noticed. #logomeaning #logosecret # Hyundai 0:33 The letter ’Н’ symbolizes two people – a client and a representative of the company – shaking hands. Adidas 0:52 The current logo is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolizes a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges that all sportsmen have to overcome day after day. Apple 1:21 Rob Janoff, the designer who came up with the world-famous Apple company logo, explained his idea in one of his interviews. He bought a bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Vaio 1:58 The first two letters of the Vaio logo symbolize an analogue wave. The last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. Amazon 2:14 The orange arrow is similar to a smile because the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product you can imagine. Baskin Robbins 2:40 The pink-colored parts of the "BR" section make up the number 31, which is how many ice cream flavors Baskin Robbins used to famously sell. Toyota 2:56 The logo represents a stylized image of a needle eye with a thread passing through it. This is a hint at the company’s past – they used to produce weaving machines. Continental 3:28 Continental, a famous car tire producer, has a logo in which the first two letters depict a car wheel. Formula 1 3:41 If you look carefully at the white space between the letter ’F’ and the red stripes, you can see the number 1. Pinterest 3:59 On Pinterest, people collect images they like from across the Internet and ’pin’ them to their online boards. That’s why the image of a pin is hidden in the letter P. Beats 4:17 Beats, an audio equipment producer based in the USA, uses a logo in which the letter ’B’ looks like headphones on a person’s head. Toblerone 4:32 The famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, has a silhouette of a bear in its logo. That's because Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. BMW 4:55 The logo is simply a part of the Bavarian flag, the area of Germany where the company originated. LG 5:18 The logo is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to have human relations with their customers. Evernote 5:34 The corner of the elephant’s ear is folded over in a similar way how people fold the corner of a page to make notes. Coca-Cola 5:57 In the space between the letters ’O’ and ’L’, you can see the Danish flag. It’s purely a coincidence. Nevertheless, Coca-Cola has used this as part of its marketing campaigns in the Scandinavian country. If you’ve enjoyed this video, hit that thumbs up button! What makes a truly great logo
Here's how a simple mark ends up meaning something big as a great logo. Joe Posner, and Michael Bierut (designer of the Hillary Clinton logo) explain. For more from Michael Bierut on graphic design, check out his book "How to use graphic design to sell things, explain things, make things look better, make people laugh, cry, and (every once in a while) change the world": http://www.amazon.com/How-Michael-Bierut/dp/0062413902 Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO About once a month, there's a new logo to fight about on the internet. The biggest one in recent memory was the highly controversial Hillary Clinton logo, which did not escape scrutiny from Vox.com either. But as a designer/filmmaker, something about these repeated discussions struck me as missing the point on what makes logos tick. It often has little to do with the subjective musings. So I called up Michael Bierut, the designer of that Hillary Clinton logo and countless others. He sat down with me and helped explain the elements of a great logo in the video above. I'm Simon McArdle, owner of The Logo Company. Color is amazingly powerful in logo designs when used correctly. Psychologists are fascinated with what emotions we feel when we view different colors and I discuss how major brands have used color in their logos to drive their brands forward and send out their subliminal messages to consumers. HIDDEN Messages In Famous Logos
Advertisements: they’re all around us, everywhere, and times where you think you’re not viewing one, you’re probably actually doing so inadvertently due to subliminal messaging! Just take a look at some of the logos on this list and tell me you don’t think that your mind picks up on the subtle things and remembers them because it does. Marketing is a very strategic thing, and these companies have done very well in their designs. Alright, this is Hidden Messages in Famous Logos. 10. Museum of London Alrighty, so you may be drawn to the neat logo that you see in this picture already based on the splotches of color chosen to sit behind the text because they’re eye-catching… but would you guess that the splotches aren’t just random? In fact, they’re very intentional and represent the geographical area of London as it’s grown over the course of history. Pretty interesting, huh? Very fitting for a museum I might add. Good job, London. 9. Formula 1 So, another common name that Formula 1 goes by is F1, and that’s represented in the logo you see here. Some of you may see it, some of you not, but if you don’t, listen up. You see the black F and the red pattern? If you look at the white space in between the two and you should see a one. If you still can’t see it, I don’t know what to do for you; I feel like, if anything, I see the one before anything else. 8. Baskin Robbins Oh, you clever Baskins. Have you ever heard the thirty-one flavors slogan for this ice cream parlor? It’s pretty well-known, so if you’ve ever heard of the company, I’m sure you know it. Now, look at their logo; do you see anything unusual, like, say, a 31 contained within the B and the R? With a change of color and a little separation of parts of the letters, the artist who created this made one fantastic logo out of something very simple. I don’t know about you, but I suddenly find myself craving sugar. Mehh. 7. Gillette Ahhhh, subtlety. When you look at the logo for Gillette, you may think that there’s nothing hidden in it at all… and there really isn’t. What makes the difference is what’s removed from the logo: the slicing of the G and the I means something in your mind, and it’s excellent marketing. How creative to just put that one little touch in there? The effort was nearly consciously undetectable. 6. Unilever Ohhh, what a neat design this well-known company has! Unilever is known for producing everything from personal care products to food to cleaning agents. Did you know that they’re actually a great company and are trying to lead the way in making living sustainable and recycling and reusing and all sorts of things? Well, they are, and their logo showcases what they’re all about. Every icon you see used within the U stands for something that represents some aspect of their business. A recycle icon stands for their sustainability, a pair of lips stands for taste and beauty, and many more that mean all sorts of things about the company. Excellent way of advertising the good aspects of the company without having to state them outright! 5. Pittsburgh Zoo Alrighty, well this one threw me for a bit of a loop! Check this cool as heck logo out! Do you see anything unusual about the tree or about the space that the tree doesn’t fill? Check out the lion and the gorilla that are staring, face to face, and then the fish that are jumping just below them. How do they do it? Such a neat way to represent what your company is all about. I’m not a huge fan of zoos myself because if you think about it, they’re actually pretty sad, but this logo does what it’s supposed to, and that’s why it’s found its way onto this list! 4. NBC Alright, so the chances are that 99% of you know this logo or have at least seen it at some point in your past. NBC’s logo is infamous and has been around since 1956. Do you see more than just the colors? Do you see what the entire logo, including its negative space, represents? A peacock. It’s a peacock, and the colors are its tail-feathers, and it all highlights the color programming that NBC provided. Who would have thought? Well, whoever designed the logo… that’s who. 3. Amazon Of course, Amazon has a creative logo that not only looks like it has a little smirky smile, which is also an arrow that points from the A to the Z in Amazon. A to Z because of all of the things that they carry; you can pretty much find anything, starting with any letter, on Amazon…. Creative, Amazon, real creative. 2. Beats If you’ve been on this Earth in the last, like, ten years, you’ll know what Beats headphones are, and you’ll also probably be familiar with their logo. So, at first glance, it looks like a simple lowercase B on a red circle, right? Well, yes, it is a B, but if you look at the whole circle, including the B, it becomes apparent what the designer was trying to convey: a person, wearing a pair of Beats headphones. Now that’s some real dope sh… 1...

10 Major Brands That Started As Something Else
Here are 10 companies with surprising beginnings. Here are 10 companies with surprising beginnings. Number 10. Taco Bell. The fast food chain's founder, Glen Bell, started off selling hot dogs. Once McDonalds moved into his neighborhood and proved to be formidable competition, Bell started searching for a unique food that would give him an edge. He found it in quick serve tacos. Number 9. NASCAR. If it weren't for prohibition, the car racing series may have never been launched. The fast machines were originally used by bootleggers so they could outrun police. In their downtime, they'd race. The events happened sporadically and without rules until a fan named Bill France stepped in. He organized them under a governing body and within months the first NASCAR event was held. Number 8. Tiffany. The mention of the name quickly conjures images of sparkly gems and beautiful jewelry, but back in the day it was just a small stationery store. So small, in fact, it only made 5 dollars on its first day of business. The merchandise selection expanded over time and the store's original owner, Charles Lewis Tiffany, eventually became known as the 'King of Diamonds'. Number 7. Marriott International. The company that would eventually become one of the most successful lodging chains in the world began with a 9-stool A&W Root Beer stand. Founder, J. Willard Marriott kept expanding his business holdings and in 1957 opened his first hotel. Number 6. Gap, Inc. When the first Gap opened in San Francisco in 1969 they had plenty of jeans, but they also sold records. Once the clothing side of the business took off, the records were tossed to make room for more apparel. Eventually, the Gap started to manufacturer its own merchandise and by the early 90s sold it exclusively. Number 5. Nintendo. They were always in the game business, but in their early years focused on the card variety. Throughout their long history Nintendo has dabbled in toys, food, and hotels. They became a global household name, though, after they released their first electronic entertainment device in 1983 -- nearly 100 years after the company was founded. Number 4. Avon. In the late 1800s, Founder David McConnell was selling books door-to-door, but thanks to his female clients realized cosmetics was likely a more lucrative business. Number 3. American Express. Founded in 1850 as an express shipping company in Buffalo, American Express began to expand its assets in New York just four years later. By 1874 they were headquartered there. In 1890 they introduced a revolutionary new type of currency -- the Travelers Cheque. Number 2. Wrigley's Gum. When William Wrigley Jr. arrived in Chicago he made his living as a soap salesman. He offered his customers free baking powder as a bonus, and eventually it became the more popular product. Being adaptable, he switched his main sales offering to baking powder and changed his free gift with purchase to his own gum. Clearly, the gum was a huge hit and became Wrigley's focus. Number 1. Nokia. Though it was just a modest pulp mill, Nokia made the most of what they had -- access to hydropower. They expanded into electricity and soon after were acquired by Finnish Rubber Works, who later also purchased a cable company. The three were combined and by the 1990s were fully committed to advancing themselves in the telecommunications industry. What corporate transformations do you find the most intriguing?

Louis Vuitton Sued by Pooey Puitton Toymaker MGA Entertainment
Louis Vuitton gets sued by Pooey Puitton Toymaker MGA Entertainment. Louis Vuitton, like most major fashion labels, is very protective over its logos however MGA Entertainment thinks the LVMH-owned house too overprotective and has filed a lawsuit against Louis Vuitton. The subject of the lawsuit is MGA’s “Pooey Puitton” purse, a plastic case that carries a surprise selection of toys. The Pooey Puitton purse is painted to resemble Louis Vuitton’s collaborative Takashi Murakami handbags, though “no reasonable consumer would mistake the Pooey Puitton product for a Louis Vuitton handbag,” as stated by MGA stated. On or around December 7, 2018, Louis Vuitton claimed to one of MGA’s customers that the Pooey Puitton name and product infringed upon or diluted one or more of Louis Vuitton trademarks. “The use of the Pooey name and Pooey product in association with a product line of ‘magical unicorn poop’ is intended to criticize or comment upon the rich and famous, the Louis Vuitton name, the LV marks, and on their conspicuous consumption.” – Louis Vuitton. MGA Entertainment elected to act first and have filed the lawsuit against LV due to the fashion house’s “history of not respecting parody rights in the US and filing vexatious lawsuits against such protected parody.” INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/closerlookofficial/ Instrumental produced by Chuki http://www.youtube/user/CHUKImusic
