The Deep Blue Sea - First Look

01:18
After an eleven year hiatus from fiction film making Terence Davies, one of Britons most iconic auteurs, returns with characteristic aplomb with a superb adaptation of Terence Rattigan's The Deep Blue Sea. Supplementing the plays study of forbidden love and suppressed desire with Davies' renowned visual flair and subtle storytelling, and featuring a remarkable central performance from Rachel Weisz, The Deep Blue Sea is a deeply moving love story with a timeless appeal. Hester Collyer (Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz) leads a privileged life in 1950s London as the beautiful wife of high court judge Sir William Collyer (Simon Russell Beale). To the shock of those around her, she walks out on her marriage to move in with young ex- RAF pilot, Freddie Page (Tom Hiddleston), with whom she has fallen passionately in love. Stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea, what - or whom - should Hester choose? The Deep Blue Sea will be the closing night film of the 55th BFI London Film Festival. It also marks the high point in a year of celebrations for the centenary of Terence Rattigan's birth.

Deep Blue Sea movie clips: http://j.mp/2jlZ2NR BUY THE MOVIE: http://bit.ly/2jgMx5q Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: http://bit.ly/1u2y6pr CLIP DESCRIPTION: Susan (Saffron Burrows) makes a fatal mistake trying to distract the last shark, as Carter (Thomas Jane) and Preacher (LL Cool J) aim to blow up the sharp-toothed killer with a car battery and explosively charged harpoon. FILM DESCRIPTION: Although mako sharks are among the fastest and deadliest predators in the ocean, they're not as smart as humans -- at least, they weren't. However, Dr. Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows) has been using mako sharks as her test subjects for research on the regeneration of human brain tissues. McAlester has altered the DNA of several sharks, raising them close to the level of human intelligence; the sharks have also become faster and stronger in the process. While these DNA experiments have yielded fascinating results, they're also of questionable ethics and legality, earning her the distrust of several members of her crew, including shark authority Carter Blake (Thomas Jane and cook "Preacher" Dudley (LL Cool J). The financial backers of these experiments have also expressed skepticism, so when McAlester is ready to perform some major tests, financier Russell Franklin (Samuel L. Jackson) arrives for the occasion. McAlester and her team are delicately extracting brain tissue from one of the altered makos when the animal regains consciousness - and becomes very angry. The shark not only attacks the researchers but also damages the floating lab, leaving the crew aboard a literally sinking ship, with the makos eager to go a few rounds CREDITS: TM & © Warner Bros. Jaws VS The Shallows VS Deep Blue Sea VS Open Water : Movie Feuds ep172

07:32
We haven't had a great shark movie in awhile so The Shallows was a refreshing return. A lot of reviewers compared it to Jaws as they inevitably always do. Jaws is the benchmark for monster movies. The Shallows learns from the 1975 masterpiece and puts it's own modern spin on it. It's essentially 127 Hours on a rock at sea. This episode has something for everyone though so if you want to hear more about over-the-top shark flicks, take a look at Deep Blue Sea. Explosions, fake-looking cgi and impractical situations make this a very stupid yet very entertaining movie. For a more somber and serious tone, there's Open Water. Another survival picture, this time based on true events, of a couple left in the middle of the ocean. Sharks circle them for days as they wait for help or more likely, death. Today Adam battles some of his favorite shark movies against each other. It's Jaws VS The Shallows VS Deep Blue Sea VS Open Water on Movie Feuds! Hello, and welcome everyone, to OtherlandStudios newest MEP~! -- Well, the full name is Bottom of The Deep Blue Sea, but- that would have been quiet the long title haha Ohwell, this MEP was quiet the ride, and- well it also took quiet some time to complete, then again we also had other projects which took priority so- this one kinda got left alone for some time Welp, in that regard I am very sorry to the membery that finished their parts months ago already, I hope you all feel better if I tell you that your parts still look stunning to me haha~ Another thing, als always a huge thanks to those who helped me fill up parts or those who took multiple parts! In this regard, a huge thanks to ATearOfLove and xTsuisou! And yeah- So this MEP didn't really have a prominent theme other than "blue". Deepest Part of The Oceans - Full Documentary HD

44:54
Measuring the Greatest Ocean Depth The Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench is the deepest known point in Earth's oceans. In 2010 the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping measured the depth of the Challenger Deep at 10,994 meters (36,070 feet) below sea level with an estimated vertical accuracy of ± 40 meters. If Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth, were placed at this location it would be covered by over one mile of water. The first depth measurements in the Mariana Trench were made by the British survey ship HMS Challenger, which was used by the Royal Navy in 1875 to conduct research in the trench. The greatest depth that they recorded at that time was 8,184 meters (26,850 feet). In 1951, another Royal Navy vessel, also named the "HMS Challenger," returned to the area for additional measurements. They discovered an even deeper location with a depth of 10,900 meters (35,760 feet) determined by echo sounding. The Challenger Deep was named after the Royal Navy vessel that made these measurements. In 2009, sonar mapping done by researchers aboard the RV Kilo Moana, operated by the University of Hawaii, determined the depth to be 10,971 meters (35,994 feet) with a potential error of ± 22 meters. The most recent measurement, done in 2010, is the 10,994 meter ( ± 40 meter accuracy) depth reported at the top of this article, measured by the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping.

Deep Blue Sea by Stirling | The Daily Shave

21:56
Stirling Soap Co. Deep Blue Sea is an amazing scent, and my favorite from the Stirling line up. Right off the puck I get a strong hit of citrus, and pineapple. Upon lathering I get a slight hint of mint, rounded out by a sweet vanilla. Perfect scent for the spring, and summer time that is quickly approaching us. Brass Blackland Black bird A.K.A "Brassbird". Beautifully crafted, and a very hefty razor. The first thing I noticed was how easily, and smoothly the handle screwed into the threads of the head. The brass construction gives this razor a vintage feel, and since it's raw brass it will develop a patina, giving it a vintage look as well. I'm going to try and resist the urge to polish this razor. I like my stuff shiny, and like new. Finding the cutting angle on the razor was really easy. As soon as I found the safety bar it was right there. This razor has a mild face feel, little to no blade feel, and is very efficient. The magical combination of smooth, and efficient. I got a solid 3 pass shave, BBS, with no clean up required. Which is pretty rare. Paladin shaving has been around for quite some time, and has established themselves a very large, and loyal fan base. They offer artisan quality brushes at a premium price point. Offering a variety of unique designs, colors, and material. My brush being the PK-47 style made from Ebonite. The Hand Selected badger is very soft. It also creates, and holds a lather very nicely. Chanel. Bleu De Chanel Parfum is the latest offering of Bleu from Chanel. It shares the same scent notes as the rest of the family with the inclusion of cedar, and sandalwood from new Caledonia in place of vanilla. This scent is a darker offering, rounded out by the smoothness, and creaminess of sandalwood. Has good longevity, but projection is lacking. It a great skin scent however, and one must be up close and personal to really take in, and appreciate the scent. Overall. I give this shave a solid 10. Trailer: DEEP BLUE SEA 2

Building the better shark still isn't a good idea in Deep Blue Sea 2, the long-awaited sequel to the hit theatrical thriller coming this spring from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The feature-length film arrives on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, DVD and Digital starting April 17, 2018. In Deep Blue Sea 2, shark conservationist Dr. Misty Calhoun (Danielle Savre) is invited to consult on a new, top secret project run by pharmaceutical billionaire Carl Durant (Michael Beach). She believes the project, performed at a remote, sea-based facility, focuses on extracting shark antibodies to help work toward cures for human diseases. However, Dr. Calhoun is shocked to learn that the company is using unpredictable bull sharks as its test subjects, and Durant has bio-engineered a shiver of highly intelligent, super-aggressive bull sharks. When science meddles with the time-tested process of nature and nurture, the outcome can be deadly. Deep Blue Sea 2 will be available on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack ($24.98 SRP) and DVD ($19.98 SRP), as well as Digital. The Blu-ray™ Combo Pack features the film in hi-definition, a standard definition DVD and a digital version of the film. The DVD features the movie in standard definition. Deep Blue Sea 2 is rated R for creature violence and gore, and language.

Habitat miniature was built with "Flexing" sections, there was a main screw + vert track assembly that guided the descending and ascending core of the structure, motor was a stepper and was synced up with the cameras so the process could be repeated without change, pyrocell was used to cast supports that when compressed would "blow out", high speed cameras slowed this action down to make it look realistic. A large black tank was used for the implosion scene. A frame holding a 1" thick piece of glass replaced one of the tank walls, and was dressed to look exactly like the full size set. a detonator was placed in front of the suspended miniature gurney, after cameras rolled it was set off shattering the glass and flooding the miniature set. Grant McCune Design was also responsible for building the miniature, elevator shafts, shark cages / passages and helicopters used through out the movie

In a deeply vulnerable performance, Rachel Weisz plays Hester Collyer, the wife of an upper-class judge (Simon Russell Beale) and a free spirit trapped in a passionless marriage. Her encounter with Freddie Page (Tom Hiddleston), a troubled former Royal Air Force pilot, throws her life in turmoil, as their erotic relationship leaves her emotionally stranded and physically isolated. The film is an adaptation of British playwright Terence Rattigan's 1952 play, featuring one of the greatest roles for an actress in modern theatre. Through flashbacks, Mr. Davies creates memorable cinematic compositions against the backdrop of post-war England. His signature style includes beautiful tracking shots as well as the use of popular music of the day, and here Samuel Barber's majestic Opus for Violin and Orchestra. Besides his two acclaimed semi-autobiographical features Distant Voices, Still Lives and The Long Day Closes, Mr. Davies films include The House of Mirth, The Neon Bible, and his masterful nonfiction exploration of his native city, Liverpool, Of Time and the City.

BIGGEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

Fin Whale The fin whale is the second largest creature on Earth after the blue whale. It has been severely affected by commercial whaling and now it is rare to see one. If you have seen one, consider yourself lucky! They can grow as long as 89 feet (27 m) in length and can weigh between 40 to 80 tons! The maximum ever recorded weighed in at 114 tons!! They can live to be over 100 years old if left alone. The fin whale’s body is built for speed and it can even go faster than the fastest ocean steamship. It’s capable of speeds of up to 37 km/h but can go short bursts of even 47 km/h, earning it the nickname “greyhound of the sea”. Fin Whales have a very unique coloring with the right underside of their jaw, right lip, and the right side of their baleen being a yellowish-white, while the left-side is gray, making them look asymmetrical. Fun fact, fin whales and blue whales make the lowest frequency sounds of any animals. When they were first recorded by submarines, scientists thought they were tectonic plates grinding. Kind of makes you wonder about what is causing other mysterious ocean sounds! 9.) Portuguese Man of War While this is often considered a jellyfish, the Portuguese man-of-war is actually not an “it” but a “they”! It is made up of a colony of organisms called polyps that work together known as a siphonophore. While the tentacles can extend 165 feet (50 m), the average is about 30 feet (9 m) long. Still nothing to scoff at!! Also known as “the floating terror”, their body is between 5 inches to a foot wide (13 cm- 130 cm). They are usually found in groups of about a thousand or more, and have no independent means of movement. They either drift on the currents or catch the wind, so even though you should be super careful of jellyfish, they aren’t ever out to get you on purpose! The tentacles on a man-of-war are extremely venomous and very painful if you get stung but they are rarely deadly. The venom is typically used to paralyze their prey, such as small fish and other smaller creatures. Also keep in mind that a man-of-war does not need to be alive in order to give off a powerful sting, even if it has washed up on shore and looks dead, it can still sting you! The Portuguese man-of-war floats around the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Indian and Pacific. So keep an eye out if you are swimming around these areas! 8.) Giant Clam The giant clam is the largest living bivalve mollusk on earth. (Bivalve mollusks include clams, oysters, and mussels). Native to the warm waters of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, giant clams are capable of growing an average of 4 feet (1 m) in length and weighing close to 500 pounds (250 kg)! However, some species of clams have been known to grow as long as 6 feet. The large majority of a giant clam’s mass is in its shell, with the soft parts accounting for only approximately 10% of the weight. Giant clams are now endangered because they apparently are also quite delicious and have been hunted for centuries for its healthy protein. The giant clam has one chance to find its perfect home because once it chooses its spot, it stays there for the rest of its life. They can live up to 100 years or more, as long as they are in the wild. Most of the giant clams you see today have been raised in captivity and are really popular in large aquariums. Giant clams achieve their enormous proportions by consuming the sugars and proteins produced by the billions of algae that live in their tissues. This symbiotic relationship protects the algae and they are responsible for the unique coloration. No two giant clams are alike! 7.) Great White Shark According to National Geographic, great white sharks are the largest predatory fish in the world. They grow to an average of 15 feet (4.6 m) in length. However, there have been some who have grown to 20 feet (6 m) in length! In fact, the largest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to be 26 feet long, which is more than half the length of a basketball court. Combine this with a bunch of teeth, and this is why people get so scared. They are known to weigh up to 5,000 pounds (2268 kg). The heaviest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to weigh in at a whopping 7,328 pounds. . These reef-dwelling hunters nab their prey in microseconds, then slowly eat them alive. SUBSCRIBE to Deep Look! http://goo.gl/8NwXqt DEEP LOOK is a ultra-HD (4K) short video series created by KQED San Francisco and presented by PBS Digital Studios. See the unseen at the very edge of our visible world. Explore big scientific mysteries by going incredibly small. New research shows that cone snails — ocean-dwelling mollusks known for their brightly colored shells — attack their prey faster than almost any member of the animal kingdom. There are hundreds of species of these normally slow-moving hunters found in oceans across the world. They take down fish, worms and other snails using a hollow, harpoon-like tooth that acts like a spear and a hypodermic needle. When they impale their prey, cone snails inject a chemical cocktail that subdues their meal and gives them time to dine at their leisure. Cone snails launch their harpoons so quickly that scientists were previously unable to capture the movement on camera, making it impossible to calculate just how speedy these snails are. Now, using super-high-speed video, researchers have filmed the full flight of the harpoon for the first time. From start to finish, the harpoon’s flight takes less than 200 micro-seconds. That’s one five-thousandth of a second. It launches with an acceleration equivalent to a bullet fired from a pistol. So how do these sedentary snails pull off such a high-octane feat? Hydrostatic pressure — the pressure from fluid — builds within the half of the snail’s proboscis closest to its body, locked behind a tight o-ring of muscle. When it comes time to strike, the muscle relaxes, and the venom-laced fluid punches into the harpoon’s bulbous base. This pressure launches the harpoon out into the snail’s unsuspecting prey. As fast as the harpoon launches, it comes to an even more abrupt stop. The base of the harpoon gets caught at the end of the proboscis so the snail can reel in its meal. The high-speed action doesn’t stop with the harpoon. Cone snail venom acts fast, subduing fish in as little as a few seconds. The venom is filled with unique molecules, broadly referred to as conotoxins. The composition of cone snail venom varies from species to species, and even between individuals of the same species, creating a library of potential new drugs that researchers are eager to mine. In combination, these chemicals work together to rapidly paralyze a cone snail’s prey. Individually, some molecules from cone snail venom can provide non-opioid pain relief, and could potentially treat Parkinson’s disease or cancer. --- Where do cone snails live? There are 500 species of cone snails living in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, the Caribbean and Red Seas, and the Florida coast. --- Can cone snails kill humans? Most of them do not. Only eight of those 500 species, including the geography cone, have been known to kill humans. --- Why are scientists interested in cone snails? Cone snail venom is derived from thousands of small molecules call peptides that the snail makes under its shell. These peptides produce different effects on cells, which scientists hope to manipulate in the treatment of various diseases. ---+ Read the entire article on KQED Science: https://wp.me/p6iq8L-84uC ---+ For more information: Here’s what WebMD says about treating a cone snail sting: https://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/cone-snail-sting ---+ More Great Deep Look episodes: This Mushroom Starts Killing You Before You Even Realize It https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl9aCH2QaQY Take Two Leeches and Call Me in the Morning https://youtu.be/O-0SFWPLaII ---+ See some great videos and documentaries from the PBS Digital Studios! Ella Fitzgerald - Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea (Verve Records 1961)

02:27
"Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" is an American popular song published in 1932 with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Ted Koehler. It was originally recorded by Cab Calloway in 1931. It is now considered a standard, with recordings by many artists, such as George Harrison on his final album, Brainwashed. The Boswell Sisters recorded the song with The Dorsey Brothers in 1932. Frank Sinatra also recorded the song in 1959. Thelonious Monk plays it on his 1967 album, Straight, No Chaser. Ella Fitzgerald recorded it for her 1961 Verve album Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Harold Arlen Songbook. Ella's accompanied by Don Fagerquist (tp), Milton Bernhart (tb), Benny Carter (as), Chuck Gentry (ts), Henry Beau, Justin Gordon, Jules Jacob (ww), Emil Richards (vb), Lou Levy (p), Herb Ellis (g), Wilfred Middlebrooks, Joe Mondragon (b), Alvin Stoller (d), Billy May (cnd, arr). Recorded in Radio Recorders, Hollywood, January 16, 1961. (Verve Records) I don't want you But I hate to lose you You've got me in between The devil and the deep blue sea I forgive you 'Cause I can't forget you You've got me in between The devil and the deep blue sea I ought to cross you off my list But when you come knocking at my door Fate seems to give my heart a twist And I come running back for more I should hate you But I guess I love you You've got me in between The devil and the deep blue sea I ought to cross you off my list But when you come knocking at my door Fate seems to give my heart a twist And I come running back for more I should hate you But I guess I love you You've got me in between The devil and the deep blue sea

Hester Collyer (Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz) leads a privileged life in 1950s London as the beautiful wife of high court judge Sir William Collyer (Simon Russell Beale). To the shock of those around her, she walks out on her marriage to move in with young ex-RAF pilot, Freddie Page (Tom Hiddleston), with whom she has fallen passionately in love. Set in post-war Britain, this adaptation of Terence Rattigan's classic play, The Deep Blue Sea is a study of forbidden love, suppressed desire, and the fear of loneliness -- but is at heart a deeply moving love story.
