Pubic hair starts to develop probably around the ages of 9, 10, 11, 12, all the way up to 16. And the hair grows in your genital area, it starts off as sort of thin and soft and light and then it starts to get darker and thicken up and curlier. It takes on sort of a triangular pattern and can even grow up your inner thigh and outer leg. This is all normal. After pubic hair starts to develop, you can get hair in other weird places also. Like under your arm you can get air, you can get hair on your upper lip, you can get the hair on your arms and legs start to darken and become thicker. Some women decide that they want to remove their hair, especially the hair on the upper lip or their hair underneath their arms or even the hair on your legs. This is an individual choice and totally up to you. There are tons of products on the market and I really recommend speaking to somebody that has done this before. Maybe an older sister, your mom, an older friend perhaps. Talk to someone who's done this, remove their hair before. There are waxes, there are bleaches, there's shaving. Just remember it's sort of a high maintenance game because once you start to shave or wax the hair is going to grow back. And sometimes it grows in thicker and stronger than before you just have to keep it up if you do decide to shave or remove the hair. All of this is normal, it's no reason to feel embarrassed. Everyone will go through puberty and experience hair growth. Not to worry, it's all normal and it's all going to be okay.

Or, you go to a sleepover party and all the girls are talking about how relieved they are that they don't have pubic hair yet, but you've already started developing it and you're feeling embarassed, too. Puberty is a time of change. And a lot of stuff is going on in your body and it occurs at all different times for different people and it's all normal. I promise you something. Even if you start later or earlier, everyone is eventually going to catch up. So there's no need to feel embarassed or upset about what's going on. It's all a normal part of the process. Here's a look at what's going on during puberty if you're a girl. One of the first stages is that your breasts start to develop, and that occurs around the age of eight or ten. But, of course, it can occur earlier or later for some girls. The next thing that happens is you'll notice some pubic hair, and that's hair in your genital region that will start off sort of thin and soft at first and may get dark and curlier as you get older. The next thing is that you experience a growth spurt. And for girls, you may sprout up a few inches, you may gain a little weight, and you may notice that your body is becoming a bit curvier. All of this is normal. About two to two and a half years after your breasts start to develop you may get your first period. And that's when you start to bleed every month and that's a normal part of puberty also. Different changes that can occur after that are hair growth. You may notice the hair on your legs or your arms getting darker or thicker. Totally normal. Also, hair may start to grow underneath your armpits. This is normal, too. In addition, you might develop oily hair and a little bit of acne. That is a normal part of puberty, too. Just remember, we've all been through this, too. And you will make it through and become a happy and healthy woman.

How to Shave Your hairs Down There Humans are self-conscious, and some topics can make us a bit more squeamish than others. Pubic hair is one of them. Left to its own devices, pubic hair often grows in size and directions which can be appalling. Removing pubic hair is a personal preference. Shaving hairs down there is a sexy trend for a growing number of men and women, but it does require some finesse to do it well. Whether you're male or female, the process is pretty much the same lose the hair and avoid the irritation. These is how you can shave yours. 1.Pre-trim your pubic hair. Razors are designed to shave fairly short hair and will quickly clog and become dull if applied to long hair. To trim it, gently pull the hair up, away from your body and then cut it back with small, sharp scissors, clippers, preferably, some equipped with safety guards. Alternatively, use an electric scissor-action trimmer without rotating heads. Aim for hair that is shorter than ¼ inch. 2.Soften your hair and hair follicles by taking a hot shower. This will make the coarse pubic hair a lot easier to shave off. It may seem like a superfluous step, but it'll make the somewhat lengthy process much more manageable. 3.Foam up to avoid irritation. Use unscented shaving foam, cream, or gel to lather your pubic hair. It is recommended that you use shaving foam or cream that is designed for shaving pubic hair rather than facial hair. never shave your pubic hair without lubrication. 4.Stretch your skin tight. If it's loose you'll end up cutting yourself. Razors can only do their job well on nearly flat surfaces. With your free hand, stretch your skin tight and hold it firmly, giving you a clear target 5.Shave slowly and gently. There are two things to keep in mind here: shaving with the grain will prevent irritation and ingrown hairs and shaving against the grain will result in a closer shave. Knowing these two things, take into account your situation. If you have mega-super-ultra-sensitive skin, you may want to stick to shaving with the grain, even if it takes you twice as long to get the results you want 6.Exfoliate to keep your skin clean. This removes all the dead skin chillin' on the surface after shaving in addition to lining up your hairs and helping to prevent them from becoming ingrown. With your normal body soap, gently cleanse your pubic area. This will help to remove anything that might block your pores and lead to ingrown hairs and resulting infections. What's the point in shaving if all you have to replace it are little red bumps? Use a sugar scrub as your exfoliate to leave your skin smooth as a baby's bottom 7.moisturize. Aloe Vera, baby oil, or moisturizers designed for sensitive areas can be used. Egg oil containing immunoglobulins can avoid rashes due to micro-abrasions. Avoid moisturizers that may contain fragrances and coloring agents.

Puberty in Girls What is puberty? • Puberty is a transition phase from childhood into adulthood where your child will encounter a lot of changes in her physical appearance and with her behavior and personality • Girls are born with the female reproductive organs which consists of the uterus (the womb) which lies in front of the bladder, the ovaries (produce the eggs) which lie on either side of the uterus and connect to the uterus via Fallopian tubes • Puberty heralds the maturation of these reproductive organs and prepares the womb to carry and nurture a baby in the future • These pubertal changes are attributed to the release of chemicals (female sex hormones) from the ovaries Changes in puberty • Onset of puberty can occur anywhere between 8-13 years of age in girls • The start of puberty is marked initially by breast development • The breasts begin as tiny lumps under the nipples which can produce some temporary sensitivity or pain in some children • The rate at which these lumps increase in size to take the shape of breasts vary for each individual • Girls can notice some soft hair in the underarms and pubic areas • This hair can progressively get denser, thick and curly • There will also be increased hair growth on the legs and arms as they progress through puberty • Girls can notice a change in the shape of their body • The hips get wider • Thighs get more rounded • Body starts to get curvier • Some weight gain will happen • There will be gain in height – growth spurt • How tall your child gets is determined genetically • There may be body odor from more sweating • Skin can get more oily and pimples may appear which can range from just a few to many over the face , chest and back Menstruation • Girls can start to menstruate (menarche) or have “periods” anywhere from 2-21/2 years after the onset of breast development • Menstruation is the process where the uterus is getting prepared for a pregnancy whereby an egg from the ovary traverses into the uterus whose lining membrane is thickened to embed a fertilized egg. When the egg is not fertilized it gets shed along with the lining membrane via the vaginal passage • The period consists of a vaginal discharge of blood mixed with fluid which can last anywhere between 3 -7 days with heavier flow in the first 2-3 days • The periods usually occur every 28 days, however, in the first 2 years of menarche the periods may not happen regularly • Periods may be accompanied by abdominal cramps before or during the period Talking to your child about puberty • Talking to your child about puberty is a very important job as a parent • Have the talk with them when you start to notice the onset of breast development or around the age of 10 whichever occurs first • You need to make them aware of this phase, which is new and can be overwhelming considering so many changes happen physically and emotionally • The ease and confidence with which you approach the topic helps to create a comfortable rapport with your child so that she will not turn to others and obtain misinformation • Tell her that these physical changes are bound to happen to all of her peers, however it will vary in the time of occurrence and course of development hence there is no need to be self conscious or embarrassed • Talk to her about the use of sanitary napkins or tampons and how to carry a pack of sanitary pads in preparation for when in case it happens while she is out • Compliments and positive reinforcements can help to boost her self esteem and create a confident girl ready to take on the challenges of her changing world Team Ovum Hospitals

Watch more How to Survive Puberty videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/499550-What-Types-of-Hair-Develop-in-Boys-Puberty So what is one thing you notice when you put a man next to a boy? One of the most basic differences between a man and a boy is hair. When you go through puberty, you are developing a lot of hair, and sometimes in weird places, places you've never had hair before. And you may feel like a hairy caveman, but the truth is a lot of these changes are normal. So let's do a little hair 101. One of the first places you're going to notice hair is on your upper lip, and it may start to form a mustache. This is totally normal. In some guys it starts off as very thin and soft and you may barely notice it, and then it can start to grow. Other guys don't really notice it at all if they have lighter hair. Another place that you are going to start notice hair is on your cheeks and on your chin. And it's where a beard might grow, later on. Again, the hair starts off as soft and thin and light in color. And as you move through puberty and get older, it gets thicker and darker and coarser. All of this is normal. You may develop some underarm hair. And you will also notice that the hair on your arms and legs starts to get darker and a little thicker. These are all normal parts of puberty on the journey from a boy to becoming a man. What you need to remember is, some guys like to shave. Some guys are totally psyched about the hair, and they think it makes them feel really manly, and other guys are completely bummed. This is up to you. You may want to shave. There are tons of products out on the market, and I completely recommend talking to somebody that's been shaving, maybe your dad or an older sibling, a coach or maybe even your doctor, about products that may work for you. And remember, it's a high maintenance game, shaving, because once you start, the hair usually grows back darker and thicker, and you have to keep it up. And that wraps up hair 101, hair growth, puberty and boys.

And we're back with yet another episode and this time we asked people - What age do girls start their periods? Girl's period, also known as menstruation, begins about 2 to 2½ years after her first signs of puberty (breast development is usually the first sign of puberty, but sometimes pubic hair comes first). Girls usually get their first periods between the ages of 8 and 15. However, some girls start puberty a little earlier or later than others. A clue you can use to figure out when you might get your period is to check your underwear for vaginal discharge. This clear or whitish, mucus-like discharge usually appears about 6 months to a year before the first period does. Let us know what you think in the comments below! How do you know you've hit that age when your body is starting to change? Do you know if you have hit puberty yet? What actually is puberty? Once the true sign of one’s journey into the deep, dark reaches of puberty, the hairs now have a life of their own as fashion. As art. And what is art, if not one’s own sense of expression entering the deep, dark reaches of expression puberty? Like, oh man, what is puberty anyway if not your body’s attempt to make art out of YOU in the first place? HOLY COW, GUYS! My mind is being blown. So waitwaitwait. If we are the art, and puberty is the artist, are kids blank canvases? Unmolded lumps of clay? What is modern art? Like, uh…weird puberty…of somebody’s brain? WHOA. WAIT A SECOND. YOUR BRAIN IS MADE OF ART PUBES. OMG. Wait. No, no, that’s really dumb. That’s the dumbest thing that I’ve ever heard. Except for the pubic hair dress this girl made. WTF. Why. Stop. Pubic Hair Normal Dealing with pubic hair can be a tricky business. Firstly, it's awkward and embarrassing to ask friends or family for their opinion and advice - you can't exactly walk up to your pal and ask "waxing or shaving?" And secondly, you need to be very careful about how you handle that oh-so-sensitive of regions, as razor burns, ingrown hairs, and other forms of unpleasantness can result from poorly handled pubic hair. Thankfully, this handy guide will give you the complete lowdown on how to deal with that pesky pubic hair, whether you're a girl or a guy. Wash hair with a gentle soap. It's not just the hair on your head that needs washing -- your pubic hair needs a little love and attention too. Every time you take a shower or bath, use a gentle, fragrance-free soap to wash the pubic hair. Be gentle -- pulling the hair down there can hurt! Your regular shampoo or body wash is too harsh to use on the sensitive skin down south, so don't put it anywhere near your pubic region. Use an uncolored, non-fragrant bar of soap reserved specifically for that area. Don't rub it directly on the pubic hair - lather it up on your hands first. Also be very careful to avoid getting soap on or inside genitals, as it can cause irritation and itchiness. This is especially important for women, as even the gentlest soap can upset the PH balance of the vagina, leading to inflammation or infection. Keep hair trimmed short. Even if hair removal isn't your style, you'll probably want to keep your pubic hair looking neat. The best way to do this is to give yourself a haircut! The best instrument to use is a small nail scissors, preferably one with blunted ends. This will allow you the greatest maneuverability and least chance of cutting yourself. Just be sure to set it aside, somewhere private, for pubic hair use only. Don't use large scissors, as these can be awkward (and therefore more dangerous) to use. You can use an ear or nose hair trimmers in a pinch, but make sure it has a guard you can place over the blades to protect yourself. Never use an electric razor with rotating heads, as these are painful to use in the pubic region. To trim the pubic hair, pull the hair away from the body and slowly and carefully snip it away, as close to the skin as you feel comfortable with. If you prefer, run a comb through the hair first, then snip the hair protruding through the fingers of the comb. You will have to rely on feel for most of the trimming process, though you should visually check your progress with a hand-held mirror at regular intervals. Make sure that you clean up any fallen hair after you're done trimming, as leaving pubic hairs lying around the bathroom (especially a shared one) is a major faux pas. If possible, do your trimming over the toilet bowl, that way you can easily flush away any fallen hairs when you're done. Many think trimming is the best way to do it, as a lot of people think full is gross, and shaved is like a child. Shave the hair. Shaving is probably the most common option when it comes to pubic hair removal, as it is cheap, easy, relatively painless, and embarrassment free. You will need some gentle, unfragranced shaving cream or gel (both men and women should use a women's shaving cream, as it is the gentlest), preferably one designed specifically for removing pubic hair, and a new razor (dull blades will be less effective and can cause irritation). First, trim the hair from the areas you intend to shave -- you can choose to just remove the hair around the bikini or brief line, or you can go the whole hog and remove it all. Razors work best and cause the least pulling and irritation on short hair, so aim to trim the hair to about 1⁄4 inch (0.6 cm) in length. Soften the hair using hot water in the bath or shower for 3 to 5 minutes before you shave. Alternatively, you can apply a warm compress to the area to achieve the same effect. Apply your chosen shaving cream to the area, taking care to avoid the genitals. It may be wise to test the shaving cream on a small patch of skin 24 hours before shaving, as some creams may cause an allergic reaction. Pull the skin around your pubic area taut using your free hand -- shaving works best on flat surfaces. Begin shaving, without applying any pressure to the razor (if you need to apply pressure, your razor is too dull). Shaving upwards (against the direction of hair growth) will give you the closest, smoothest shave, while shaving downwards (with the hair growth) will minimize irritation for people with sensitive skin and reduce the risk of developing ingrown hairs. Once you've removed the desired amount of hair, wash the area thoroughly with warm water to remove any cream, pat the area dry with a clean towel, then apply a soothing lotion to reduce irritation. Watch more How to Survive Puberty videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/499547-What-Genital-Changes-Occur-in-Boys-Puberty Learn about the genital changes boys experience when they go through puberty from Jennifer Wider, M.D. in this Howcast video. Puberty is sort of a weird time because your body is going through a ton of different changes it's all due to your hormones. As a boy, one of the first changes you're going to notice is the growth of your testicles. Those are the two ball like structures in a sack that lie under your penis. They're going to start to grow in size. The sack itself is going to change color, it starts to darken and get a little coarser. All of this is normal. Don't be alarmed if one of your testicles grows faster than the other or seems to be a little larger than the other. As you get older, one of those testicles may stay slightly larger than the other and that is totally normal also. The only time for concern is if one of the testicles is growing rapidly, much quicker than the other one, and then you might want to let your mom or dad know to make an appointment with the doctor. One of the other changes you're going to notice is the development of pubic hair in your genital region. The hair starts off as sort of soft and thin in texture and then starts to darken and get curlier and thicker as you get older. It's totally normal. One thing to remember is if you're a guy with dark hair, your pubic hair is most likely going to be dark, and if you're a guy with light hair your pubic hair may actually be light. But it can be dark too and that's completely normal, not to worry, that's sort of the color rule. All of these changes are totally normal and they're all due to your hormones. They happen at different times and different paces for everybody. So don't freak out if you're not experiencing those changes at the same time as your friends. You will definitely catch up, we all develop at our own pace. One of the last changes in your genital area is that your penis is actually going to grow in length and get a little but fuller. This sort of starts around 11 to 14 but it can come earlier and later than that. And those are basically the changes in your genital area and your pubic hair if you're a boy going through puberty.

Watch more How to Survive Puberty videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/499548-Ages-and-Stages-of-Puberty-for-Boys-Puberty Are you noticing that your friend is as tall as LeBron James, but you're really short and only come up to his knees? Or possibly you're noticing all sorts of other things, like your friend has facial hair and you don't? Or you do, and he doesn't? All of these changes are normal. For boys, there are tons of stages and tons of ages that things can happen in, and they may occur at different orders. Not to worry. Let's break down what is going on for boys in puberty. One of the first stages is a change in your testicles. Those are the two balls in a sac that lie under your penis. The testicles start to grow, and the sac may change in color and start to get coarser in texture. This is totally normal. The second change is the development of pubic hair, and that's hair in your genital area. That usually occurs after the testicles start to grow. The next change is a growth spurt. The muscles start to develop. You start to get taller. Your shoulders broaden. This occurs at different paces and at different times for people, all normal. The next thing that occurs is that you may experience some voice changes - also normal. Acne. You may notice BO, and your penis may actually start to get larger and fuller. While all these changes may feel weird and a little strange, trust me. Everybody goes through it, and the take home message is, we all develop at our own pace, and it's all normal. If you have questions, you can definitely talk to your parents; talk to your dad, talk to an older sibling, a friend, someone you trust, even your doctor. Your doctor's heard everything, so no question is going to surprise him or her. And trust me, it's all normal and that's my take home message here, if you haven't gotten it already. And these are the stages and ages of puberty in boys.

#WARNING: THIS VIDEO CONTAINS NUDITY! In this 15 minute real time video I demonstrate how I personally complete a Brazilian Sugaring on a Client. Sugar is a all natural paste made of sugar, lemon juice, & water. It resembles honey. It is not hot like wax, but body temperature, so no burning or lifting of the skin with this method. The best way to sugar is to rake against the natural direction of hair growth & to flick with the natural direction of hair growth for a cleaner pull out of the pore. After 3-5 consecutive times of being sugared your hair will begin to train & be on 1 even growth cycle, opposed to the 3 growth cycles our hair naturally grows in. Similar to wax, Sugaring should be maintained every 4 weeks. Because hair is being removed from the root, blood is naturally going to rush to the surface of the skin, hence the redness. Redness will cease within 1-4 hours after a Sugaring session. Aftercare wise, you want to avoid direct sun exposure/sun tanning for 24 hrs, avoid sexual intercourse & working out, or any activity that may make you excessively sweat for at least 8 hrs. Lastly, you always want to exfoliate with a body scrub AT LEAST 2-3x a week in a downward motion ONLY. NO CIRCLES OR BACK & FORTH MOTIONS. Watch more How to Survive Puberty videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/499557-What-Is-Precocious-Puberty-Puberty Learn what precocious puberty is from Jennifer Wider, M.D. in this Howcast video. Puberty starts for girls around eight, nine and ten. It starts for boys a little later, around nine, ten, 11. If you notice different changes that you are experiencing, you may be going through something called precocious puberty, so look in the mirror. If you're a girl about seven, or younger, and you notice any hair on your upper lip, if you have breast development, if you have underarm hair or pubic hair, if your body is starting to change shape, you're a little curvier, gaining weight. Or if you're a boy and notice some of these changes, like hair on your upper lip, your voice is starting to change, you have underarm hair, you have some changes in your genital area, you may be developing sooner than most people your age. And this is called precocious puberty. Precocious puberty tends to run in families. It's more common in girls than boys, and it's more common in overweight girls than it is in girls of normal size. Usually there's nothing wrong if you're developing a little bit earlier than your friends. But sometimes it could be the sign of something going on, something like hormone issues, or a side effect from a medication. It's a really good time to speak to your parents if you have any concerns, and your parents can make an appointment with your doctor. The doctor can refer you to someone called a pediatric endocrinologist. And that's a specialist who deals with children and specializes in hormones and growth issues. But don't worry. Everybody develops at their own pace, and everybody and your friends will catch up with you in no time.

Though the thought of a 6th grader becoming physically able to get pregnant is the stuff of most parents' nightmares, it's not as uncommon as you might think. Watch more How to Survive Puberty videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/499532-Dealing-w-Puberty-When-Overweight-Puberty For girls who are overweight or obese, they can experience puberty a little bit earlier than other people, and you may notice signs like facial hair, pubic hair development, underarm hair growth, you get your period, your breast start to develop a little bit earlier than, let's say, seven or eight. The reason may be because you're overweight. What you need to remember is, when you are overweight, some of the issues that you deal with as a child becomes issues that you deal with as an adult, and this is why it is so important to get on top of your weight as a child. If you are concerned about your weight, if you feel like you gained too much weight going through puberty, definitely speak to your doctor. Since you were a little girl, your doctor has charted your growth, your height and weight changes, and if your growth stays in a curve, it's totally normal for you and everything may be okay. If you have excessive weight gain during puberty, your doctor can work with you and other health practitioners to put you on a plan that may help you lose that weight, which is so important, again, as a child because if you can shed those pounds as a child, you will be much better off as an adult. And what I want to mention here too is you want to avoid fad diets as much as you can. Fad dieting usually never works because while it may work in the short term, in the long term you tend to pack the pounds back on, and it's hard to sustain itself. You need to make lifestyle changes that are going to work, you need to eat better, you need to put in regular exercise, and a healthcare practitioner definitely can guide you. So don't be concerned if you are overweight, there are definitely way to keep it in control. Just speak to your doctor, speak to a parent if you have any concerns, and you'll on your way to normal development.
