15 MOST Luxurious Fashion Brands

11:15
From Oscar de la Renta to Chanel, here are some of the most lavish and prestigious fashion brands. Subscribe to Hindered Thoughts http://goo.gl/d3U3RP 6. Chanel The high fashion wear company was introduced to the world back in 1909 by none other than Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, otherwise known as “Coco Chanel.” This is where the brand gets its inspiration for the famously recognizable logo that is two interlocking C’s. The company specializes in creating haute couture for its wealthy clients but also for fashion models like Naomi Campbell, who once modeled for them, and actresses Marilyn Monroe, Keira Knightley, and Nicole Kidman. One of their most famous products is the perfume No. 5 de Chanel, along with the Chanel Suit. Today, Chanel is valued at being $6.8 billion dollars. An interesting fact to note is that Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director behind Fendi, happens to be the creative director for Chanel as well. 5. Prada Founded back in 1913 by Mario Prada, this fashion brand actually started out by manufacturing leather bags and trunks. It would then evolve into selling everything from clothing to perfume and even a brief stint of LG Prada cell phones. Though the brand may have broadened its inventory, it still spends the majority of its focus creating some of the world’s most exclusive handbags that only the rich and famous can possibly hope to afford. Mario Prada believed that women should not be involved in business so he excluded his own family members from getting involved. In a fantastic twist of irony, his son did not care to run the business so his daughter Luisa Prada took over as his successor and is now currently being run by her daughter Miuccia. 4. House of Versace The fashion empire that is the House of Versace all started with fashion designer Gianni Versace back in 1978. He created a brand that has been synonymous with elegance and simply oozes high fashion. His glamorous gowns have gone on to make a name for himself as a respected designer. Like the case of the famous black dress held with gold safety pins that actress Elizabeth Hurley wore back in 1994 to the premiere of Four Weddings and A Funeral. Sadly, Versace’s life was cut short in 1997 on the steps of his Miami mansion when he became the fifth and final victim of Andrew Cunanan. The tragic event will be the story behind American Crime Story’s season 2 titled: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. After his death, his sister Donatella became the new Artistic Director and has established a $5.5 billion company her brother would be proud of. 3. Gucci Started in 1921 by a Mr. Guccio Gucci, the company was originally dabbing in leather goods. It wasn’t until 19 years later when his son Aldo would take the company from being a one-stop shop into the fashion powerhouse that it’s now known for being. It’s Aldo that would usher in the era of the brand’s iconic “Bamboo Bag” and its “ready to wear segments.” In the 90’s, the company decided to bring American Fashion designer Tom Ford to revamp their women’s wear. He ended up helping launch the brand to where it is today. The fashion brand houses other well-known designers in its collections such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Yves Saint Laurent. If you’re in the market to do some shopping at this $12.4 billion brand, expect to spend at least $2,000. 2. Louis Vuitton This may come as a shock but the famous fashion brand has been around longer than you might have thought. Formed 163 years ago in 1854, a young man by the name of Louis Vuitton started out as an apprentice for a box-maker. Vuitton ended up becoming a well-known crafter of luxury trunks and opened up his own shop in Paris. He then ended up becoming the personal box-maker of Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugenie de Montijo. Fast forward years later and the company is now worth $28.1 billion with a generated revenue of $10.1 billion. Today, Louis Vuitton doesn’t make just trunks but designer handbags and clothing that can be spotted on the most famous of A-listers. 1. Balenciaga The beginning of Balenciaga’s reign began back in 1919 when it was established by its founder of the same name, Cristóbal Balenciaga. As a young child, Balenciaga became an apprentice to a tailor in his hometown of Getaria, Spain and would eventually get his formal training in Madrid. He would go on to create the House of Balenciaga and skyrocketed to success thanks to his artistic genius. He was hailed as the undisputed “ King of Fashion” and was highly respected among his peers which included the likes of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Pierre Balmain. Balenciaga even helped train the likes of high-fashion designers Oscar de la Renta and Hubert Givenchy to name a few.

How I Faked My Way to The Top of Paris Fashion Week

07:19
Oobah Butler of fake shed restaurant fame is back and this time he’s turned his attention to the world of fashion. Paris Fashion week is iconic amongst A-Listers and fashion inner circles. It's the place where you find all the next big trends, the crème de la crème of fashion weeks. Georgio Peviani was getting loads of attention at PFW. Buyers from Milan wanted his denim in their stores, the inner-circle wanted him at their showrooms and A-Listers partied with him at night. But the man doesn't actually exist.. does he? This is the time Oobah Butler faked his way into Paris Fashion Week. My thoughts on designer items, labels, logos etc. | Random rambles #13

14:33
Designer labels are fine with me when we’re speaking “investment pieces” and classic design icons, and as long as we don’t overdo our consumption of these. I actually think it’s important that we support good designs and originality. But even some designer labels have become greedy since the evolution of fast fashion; that means they have kept their high price points, but the quality may not always be worth the money. So it’s tricky! Watch the video to find out more, and let me know your thoughts down below too. Fashion your future: Think more like a fashion designer | Suzi Vaughan | TEDxQUT

12:26
We live in times of unprecedented, disruptive change and uncertainty and most people find it challenging to thrive in those circumstances. If ‘design thinking’ is the new black, then thinking like a fashion design may just be the next big thing! This talk takes the idea of design thinking and translates it into a series of very practical tips that you can employ yourself, every day to help you think more optimistically in times of uncertainty and ambiguity. Professor Suzi Vaughan has settled (for now) in Brisbane, Australia having studied, lived and worked in Europe and Asia. After graduating from St Martins School of Art in London with a Ba Hons in Fashion, she started her professional career as a fashion designer, later moving into fashion education. Since 2011 she has been part of the executive team of a large Australian university. With over thirty years’ experience of design practice and teaching, she has become an advocate for the power and potential of design thinking. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

How to Spot a Fake Designer Handbag In 7 Steps

04:19
How to choose the real designer handbag and spot a fake handbag? How to differ fake from real easily? Buying a luxury car for men: you have to be very attentive to small details and know everything about your dream handbag. That’s why we decided to create a short yet very useful guide that will teach you how to choose the real thing. TIMESTAMPS Pay attention to details 0:44 Check clasps, buttons, and zippers 1:15 Pay attention to the materials 1:49 Check tags and labels 2:15 Take a closer look at its serial number 2:41 An expensive handbag always has expensive packaging 3:03 Each brand has its very own distinct characteristics 3:25 SUMMARY - All of the stitches should be perfectly even, and there should be no loose threads or any other visual defects or imperfections. All genuine designer handbags are handmade. - Pay special attention to small things like metal clasps, buttons, zipper pulls, plates, and locks. Their quality should be perfect, and they should have a number or a name printed on them, which is another sign of quality and authenticity. - A famous brand doesn’t use rough leather. They only use fine, high-quality materials. When you touch them, you feel like you are in paradise. - Fake items often have the brand names printed in different fonts, smudgy letters, or even with misspellings. Tags and labels are always a giveaway. - The label with the number is sealed and attached in a special way, making it impossible to remove without damaging. Fake items usually have a sticker with a number that has just been glued somewhere on the surface. - An expensive designer handbag always has expensive packaging, often made of the highest-quality materials. The package your precious bag comes in should have no color defects whatsoever. - Before visiting a store, do some research on the specific attributes of the chosen brand. Remember – each brand has its very own distinct characteristics. Do you know other ways to recognize fake bags? Share your experience with us in the comments down below! LOCHER'S - The Naughty & Sweet Parisian Fashion Label - Interview With Designer Nicole Locher

03:21
Locher's website: http://www.lochers.com Exclusive interview with Parisian fashion designer Nicole Locher of LOCHER'S. Locher's is known for their mischievous embroidery designs and jewellery. From a very early age we develop a need to set ourselves apart from the crowd. For most of us, that means finding ways to be noticed.Let's be honest,we all feel a certain degree of satisfaction when others take notice of us. It makes for a great boost to the ego and leads us to stand in the spotlight just for a little bit....In the quest to be unique,we are always looking for ways to drop obvious clues to others that there is something special about us.When Swiss born, Paris based designer Nicole Locher creates clothes, she attempts to make the garments help bring attention to a woman's uniqueness. She thinks that the best assets a woman has are her youthfulness, freshness, but mostly her sense of humour. These assets should be brought out through what she wears and let people know she is unpredictable, one of a kind and of course can dazzle men with her wit and charm... When it comes to fashion Nicole is a firm believer in "the basics". Nothing is better than the simplicity of a great cut top in a fresh colour, then add an eye catching element that gives the whole piece that special something. She created LOCHER'S to meet the need of a woman that wants to be subtly noticed and recognised when someone gets close enough to read "the small print". The hard part is in growing it and maintaining your vision for the brand through the hard times. It all starts with a vision, and then comes down to the products that you decide to create. There is no need to spend thousands of dollars for printing, sewing or opening up your own building to start your brand. You can start this right out of your own house, on your terms, while working or going to school. With that being said it’s important to note how products are actually made, so you have a clear understanding of manufacturing. ****How To Design Clothing**** All designs start off with a sketch, then go onto a CAD design to make the patterns, then sampling and finally making adjustments if they are needed. Adjustments will be necessary, so that is why making your own products can be expensive. An alternative route in order to start your clothing line is discussed in this video, which will help you get off the ground and create a clothing brand. From there you must market and sell your products and finally start shipping. These steps are essentially the things you will need to do in order to start and grow your clothing line. ****Resources To Help You Start**** Bella Canvas - Manufacturer of the best blank apparel: http://bit.ly/2t9Guo6 DesignCrowd- work with hundreds of thousands of graphic artists to create your next T-shirt or brand design: http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-8123096-12123856?sid=email Fiverr Design logo, business cards, branding and much more for as little as $5 dollars: http://tracking.fiverr.com/SH1rz Build Your eCommerce website with Shopify.
