It is a video of a product testing machine engineered for Schlage Lock, LLC, a division of Allegion, Inc. The automation equipment was engineered, custom machined and developed by our engineering firm. The operator interface of the automated equipment consists of a PC with a color touch screen. The PC runs a custom automation application written in Visual Basic. This automation equipment is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC) running programmed test sequences. In addition to the PC front end monitoring and controlling test operations, it also creates and debugs test programs.

Audi Smart Factory P-Tech Day. Subscribe. Audi is making its production fit for the future with the smart factory. In this factory of the future, big data – the creation and intelligent connection of large volumes of data – will facilitate data‑driven and thus highly flexible and highly efficient manufacturing. A method of production in which Audi might no longer build its cars on an assembly line but according to a radically new, disruptive concept is modular assembly. In addition to this major project, Audi is pursuing many other exciting projects for the production of the future – from the application of virtual‑reality glasses to metal 3D printing. Modular assembly. The complexity of automobile production is increasing. New market needs, customer expectations and the legislative framework are increasingly requiring innovative technologies and differing vehicle versions. This means that the fixed timing of the assembly line is becoming less efficient. The more the number of derivatives and variants grows, the more difficult it becomes to master high complexity and integrate new routines into the rigid, sequential process. Audi intends to meet this challenge and to develop a completely new principle for it: modular assembly. With this method, small, separate workstations allow highly flexible working routines – in terms of both time and space. Between those workstations, driverless transport systems take over the transport of the car bodies as well as the parts required for production. A central computer precisely controls the driverless transport systems – it recognizes the needs of each individual station, thus ensuring a smooth workflow. Audi assumes that modular assembly will result in 20 percent better productivity than the assembly lines of today. It is now being applied for test purposes at the engine plant in Győr, Hungary, and application is planned in two further projects. At present, the key principles of this innovative production system are being worked out and tested by “arculus” – a startup company established a few months ago. The Technical Center for Production Assistance Systems. The new driverless transport systems required for modular assembly are being created in Audi’s “Technology Development Production Assistance Systems” department. This small department has developed two types of driverless vehicle: One of them moves under control by a computer, the other moves autonomously on a defined route. Three onboard laser scanners allow the driverless transport systems to orient themselves and to recognize and avoid potentially critical situations. Audi developed the navigation software itself. It is based on automotive software and automotive‑software development processes. The main task of the Technical Center for Production Assistance Systems is to work on new production technologies in early stages of their development. In addition to driverless transport systems, it is also working on four other projects. They comprise safe cooperation between humans and machines when working in the same space, assembly tables with assistance functions and two innovative robots: a flexible gripper arm and a special lightweight robot. The Audi Production Lab. The Audi Production Lab, abbreviated as P‑Lab, develops and supports innovative projects for the production process – often starting with the very first idea. The department currently has five permanent employees andhas already helped to bring innovations such as metal 3D printing, human‑robot cooperation, driverless transport systems and the use of augmented reality at Audi towards series application. The projects currently running in the P‑Lab include two big‑data projects. One of them focuses on the early recognition of mistakes in the placement of screws and bolts; the other examines the flow of components in the area of international logistics for the CKD plants (completely knocked down). Another major subject for the Audi Production Lab is data glasses. They can provide effective support for employees in production, for the planners and engineers in the factory of the future – with assisted reality, augmented reality and virtual reality. Toolmaking. Several future-oriented projects are running in Audi’s Toolmaking division. The structure of the new generation of press tools follows nature, with many parts made of aluminum and plastics. This reduces the weight of those tools, which until now has been up to 45 tons, by up to 20 percent and the energy required decreases by about ten percent. The result is enhanced precision in the forming of sheet‑metal parts. The press shop, where the tools are applied, uses the latest measuring technology. The goal is to develop a complete data chain for each sheet‑metal part. The data chain already begins with the suppliers of steel and aluminum. This is another way in which Audi is enhancing its precision.

In this talk, we'll describe the infrastructure built to support, scale and automate our software development and product releases, and how any organization can use these tools and techniques to improve release velocity in the face of rapid growth. Specifically, we will discuss Hobo — an easy, standardized way for developers to run our application stacks in Docker. We’ll also describe Control Tower, which manages software releases by unifying all of the information about application features into a single interface. These tools allow engineers to focus on product development, while moving their work from idea to production as efficiently as possible. Alex Thurlow started at Indeed in 2013 and is the Engineering Manager for the Release Engineering team. He has been working to scale Indeed’s software development and release process to make it fast, easy, reliable, and trusted. Jon Hanks is a Software Engineer at Indeed since 2014. For PLC Project Details Or Customized Development Call/Watsapp +91 7400340296 Here we demonstrate the use of PLC based pick and place system using proximity sensors, electromcgnet that allows for efficient conveyor transfer mechanism using PLC and pneumatic cylinders by nevonprojects.com This video shows the demonstration of “PLC based Pick and Place Product Sorting Machine”. Product Sorting system is a part of Industrial Automation, which plays a key role for packaging finished products in industries like Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, Food, Beverage and also services like E-commerce, Courier and Parcel. ‘Pick and place’ is the act of picking things up from one location and placing them at another. This system shown in the video above is ‘Pick and Place’ type product sorting system. Basically, this sorting system has two conveyor belts where one yields metallic products and another yields non-metallic product as output. Here products are fed into first conveyor belt. As the moving product reaches near proximity sensor it sends an electrical signal to the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), PLC then sends an electrical signal to Pneumatic Solenoid valve. A pneumatic solenoid valve is a device which operates (Open/Close) on the basis of digital input sent to it. Therefore, as the product reaches in front proximity sensor a double acting type cylinder lowers down due to the inlet of pneumatic pressure from the solenoid valve. So, if the product is metallic then it will be lifted up by electromagnet , if the product is non-metallic then it will be left on the first conveyor belt itself. This lifting is done by a strong electromagnet, attracting only metal products. Now, another Pneumatic Cylinder places the lifted product on top of the second conveyor belt, where the piston lowers down and places the metallic product. During the entire ‘Pick and Place’ process the conveyor belts is switched off (put steady) by PLC. A proximity sensor senses the placement of product on second conveyor belt for efficient conveyor transfer, belt is turned on, this moving conveyor belt puts the product in the bin. Cambridge Consultants and Ocado transform warehouse automation

A world first in radio design has been created by product design and development firm Cambridge Consultants, working in conjunction with Ocado. The new wireless control system is transforming the warehouse automation solution used by the online grocery retailer. The technology enables Ocado to control and co-ordinate the movements of hundreds of thousands of crates containing millions of grocery items, in real time and in parallel. It means that Ocado’s innovative next-generation warehouse is home to the most densely packed mobile network in the world. The new wireless control system provides Ocado with a guaranteed connection 10 times a second to each of 1,000 machines per access point – all working within a 50-metre radius. As it works in licence-free spectrum, it can be deployed quickly anywhere in the world. As well as logistics, the system could potentially be used to control fleets of semi-autonomous vehicles at sites such as factories, construction sites and airfields.
