Top 10 List of Types of Videos To Create:
Funny, Weird, Gross, Shocking, Interesting, Sexy, Inspiring, Demonstrates, Instructional, Personal
These technically are not say "in order", we're more or less stating these are the top 10 video types that work on YouTube. When it comes to videos, people are different, and the general audience is different. When we watch a video for the first time, we have no idea what to expect.
Let's breakdown this list and you can determine which you feel you want to do.
Funny -- Laughter is the best medicine anyone can have. When we laugh, it does awesome wonders to the body, makes people feel good, makes them have a great time. So why would we second guess ourselves and make funny videos? Well it depends, what kinda of funny videos do you want to make?
Weird -- Weird stuff is all over the place, and the internet and YouTube is probably the #1 place to find weird things. Just like funny, weird can mean different things. If weird is your thing, ask yourself before making videos, what kind of weird videos would do great, and what can I do that makes things weird?
Inspiring -- This has a very high share rate. Inspiring is something we all shed a tear to sometimes. When it comes to people either achieving goals, victories, accomplishments, or just something overall heart warming, inspiration is key to getting great reviews, great press, and just overall liked. What videos are inspiration to you?
Shocking -- Shocking videos are not say an easy thing to film all the time. These videos are the more "Do not try this at home" type of videos, and are strongly against doing unless you are a trained professional. And if that's the case, then this style is for you. Shocking videos are hits on the internet, especially video. Shocking videos get passed around like a plague and end up always having over 2-5 million hits per video. It's not an overnight thing, unless you know it can be?
Interesting -- This topic is more of the sales approach or training kinda things. This isnt say a strong video topic, but like any videos, anything is everything and any video series can go viral. Would you consider yourself and your videos someone might say as interesting?
Sexy -- The term "sex sells" is by far an incredible marketing tool. This isn't say get naked, no, but sexy has a strong hold on the internet. And it's a very controversial topic as well. If you have sexy, then this is a series you can totally grow quickly in, and depending what you do in your videos, can generate a lot of viewers, and in return a lot of income.
Personal -- This is more along the term "vlogging" which on YouTube is HUGE, and some vloggers make well over $1 million alone just from vlogging. It's by far simple and easy to do. If you have a camera and a story to tell, then be sure to check out some other vloggers on YouTube, learn some tricks of the trade, get out there and start vlogging.
Demonstrations -- A lot of tech companies use this topic, more like unboxings, how-to's, and just what the subject is, demonstrations. This topic is strong in the tech fields, but wide open market for others as well.
Instructional -- The How-to's also fall under this topic, along with gaming videos. Gaming videos is by far pretty powerful stuff on YouTube. It probably has the biggest communities and by far a very active communities.
Gross -- We probably wouldn't need to explain this one. Gross works, but to a certain level. Not everyone can bare gross, so you're limiting your audience, but maybe play tricks on your titles and sneak attack your viewers?
This concludes our first of the YouTube Marketing & Advertising series. Next week, we'll be diving into title creations, and descriptions, along with tags. All those things are MAJOR influences in getting your videos to the front page and in viewed.
