George Clooney, Anderson Cooper, Brett Favre and even President Obama may have this in common, but not all men find this look appealing when it comes to their own hair—salt-and-pepper, gray hair! For those men who don't appreciate their own silver locks, there is a quick and easy way to camoflage their gray and appear more youthful. Mary Jo McGinnity of Fantastic Sams of Minnesota appeared on Twin Cities Live to share details on a fast and discrete way for men to subtly touch up their gray hair with "camo" color which can be done during the shampoo process at the salon. (Men don't have to worry about sitting in a salon chair with foils in their hair or being subjected to a long and lengthy salon appointment.)

Haircolor; retouch gray and lighten to match the base color

07:04
When you choose a haircolor to cover gray; which is to deposit haircolor, and lighten the dark part of the salt and pepper hair, you need to consider a haircolor that would lift and deposit at the same time, which is not so easy. You cannot choose too light of a haircolor, like above level 7, because the gray would not be covered completely (with gray magic it might, but we didn't have it), but the dark color will lift, and below level 7 will cover gray, but will not lift. That is why the chosen haircolor was level 7 neutral, considering the dark and grey hair and the red pigment in the dark; neutral cancels the red undertone. The result was a level 7 golden color. Why gold and not neutral, because, even though the neutral color did cancel some of the red, the red was still dominant and resulted in producing a warmer toned haircolor on the roots. How to cover gray hair. How to deposit and lift at the same time; single color application. This a an instructional haircoloring retouch video for cosmetologists, barbers, beauty school students, hairdressers, hairstylists, salon professionals, and educators.

redken tousle whip hair styling

http://www.shampoo.ch/Redken . http://www.shampoo.ch/Redken-Styling-Tousle-Whip-04 . http://www.shampoo.ch Redken Laboratories, founded in 1960, is a company built from the inspiration of a dynamic, entrepreneurial American actress named Paula Kent. Frequent chemical services and style changes were routine for any aspiring actress of her day, but Paula was extra sensitive to many of the products used by the hairdressers and make-up artists. She felt continually frustrated that no one could explain why the products were irritating. Necessity is the mother of invention, and Paula realized that working with professional hairdressers, she could help millions of other people also wanting high performance products that were gentle. Paula Kent and her hairdresser, Jheri Redding (thus the name "REDKEN") began with three products and an intensive education program for hairdressers about the chemistry of hair and skin. The formulas were developed based on three principles: Protein technology (since hair is composed primarily of protein) An acidic pH of 4.5-5.5, complementing the natural pH of the hair and skin Products recommended exclusively by licensed cosmetologists in professional salons By 1965, Paula had full ownership of Redken Laboratories, based in California. During the '70s and '80s, the company was a leader in product technology in the US and abroad. In 1993, L'Oréal purchased Redken and now its headquarters are on 5th Avenue NYC. Today, Redken is a global leader in professional haircare products and services. The company is energized with talented people, strong partnerships with the best hairdressers, and superior Research and Development. Redken products are now available in professional beauty salons in over 50 countries. Redken's philosophy on beauty powered by science Beginning in 1960, Redken revolutionized the professional salon business by introducing the concept of protein reconditioning. Based on evidence that hair is composed primarily of proteins, and can absorb topically applied proteins, Redken developed new protein based products. Salons were suddenly able to condition hair internally and for the long-term rather than solely camouflage damage. Redken soon began to develop patented protein technologies and now holds over 60 global patents on products and ingredients. In fact, Redken's two latest patents for protein technology are the basis for our haircare and styling lines. Patent #6,015,574 was issued for Redken's exclusive Interbond Conditioning System. An integral part of Redken's haircare collection, it provides simple solutions to specific needs by carrying highly specialized ingredients to the hair. These ingredients help transform the hair's inner structure while dramatically improving its outer appearance. Patent #6,013,250 was issued for Redken's new 3D Repair Complex, which is in the EXTREME line of haircare products. Delivered by the Interbond Conditioning System, the 3D Repair Complex includes proteins, ceramide and natural lipids to help provide internal strength, cuticle reinforcement and protective resurfacing to distressed hair. And for the future... Our commitment to formulate scientifically superior products for the global salon community continues, and as we forge ahead in the millennium, our awareness of fashion, street trends and modern hair needs will only enhance our scientific strength.

How to do a perfect root coloration to cover grey hair regrowth?

03:24
In this video you can see how to do a root retouch that covers your grey hair and ensures an even color result from root to tip. Indeed, when your hair color is growing out, you need to make sure to color you hair perfectly, so follow our expert's step-by-step tips. Step by Step Instructions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 1: Perform an allergy alert test 48 hours before each product use. Step 2: Choose a permanent level 3 coloration. Tinting and lightening would not cover your grey hair. Step 3: As your roots grow out in a different shade, it is very important that you follow the application time to reach an even color result. Step 4: Protect your clothes with a towel Step 5: Unpack the box which contains all the components of your coloration. Step 6: Put on the gloves that you find attached to the instruction leaflet. Step 7: Use the mixture immediately on your dry, not pre-washed hair. Apply it first to your roots and massage it in. Step 8: Apply the coloration strand by strand to your roots until they are completely covered, then massage the mixture in thoroughly and let it work for 20 minutes. Expert tip: Use the application top of the developer bottle for forming sections of hair on which you then apply the coloration. Step 9: Then spread the color to the full length of the hair and let it work for another 10 minutes. Expert tip: To remove stains of color on your skin, massage these stains with the color itself before rinsing. Step 10: After rinsing out the product thoroughly, use the color locking conditioner as after treatment. Leave it in for 2 minutes then rinse out.
